Yeah but the factory is not on the list of potential buildings for my third city. Which probably means there was some prereq for building it, but I don't remember what it was.

One question on ranking

When we type player's name into encyclopedia we can check info on that player. There's a section:

Economy: 29
Army: 35
Development: 43
Trade: 20
Tokens: 310

Tokens is fairly clear: the more you do/trade, the more you get.

But the four other details make me wonder. They are my rank, right? Not absolute number meter count of what I do, but rank of mine among all those players, right?

Wait, you can earn tokens by trading? Then why are we not farming them by trading insane amounts of resources between us?

You get tokens for combat: http://terrabellica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=811

Specifically:
1. Killing troops of enemy players (marked by red color stripe)
2. Casting magic spells
3. Guarding the Well on the Arena

Exactly, they are your rank. The absolute meter for the top-25 can be found in Encyclopaedia -> World -> Rankings

Here are some explanations: http://terrabellica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=779

Hey all, I have a couple of newbie questions:

1. When it says that a ship can carry one unit and a small amount of goods (i.e. the cog), does that mean that it can load one hero + troops and some resources? If so, is there any cap at the amount of troops that can be loaded?

2. Speaking of ships, how much trouble should I expect from krakens, and what would constitute a good naval force to take one on? I would like to send some heroes over to island number eight to kill orcs and scout the place out, but it would be a shame to see my little expedition succumb to evil tentacle-demons. If they are going to be a problem, I would much rather be able to kill one than have it sink any of my ships.

3. I seem to be unable to relinquish troops from heroes while in town. Do I need to be at full AP in order to send them back to the city storage, or is there something else that I am missing? I have one hero stuck with swordsmen and I would much rather have him lead volunteers during orc hunting.

4. Treasure chests spawn every now and then relatively close to my city. Will they stop doing that if I lose my dark aura?

5. It seems that there is little left for me to do in my immediate lands, so what would be a good level for a hero to start going to the arena? Also, what kind of troops (including numbers) and artifacts would be ideal?

4. Enjoy your chest while you can. Free loots! you wont have them much longer. Especially if you lose Dark Aura.

5. Keep your fucking Dark Aura as long as you can (which is three weeks max). Buy lots of metal in your CAPITAL, stock timbers and stones and gold there so your tributes got sent automatically. Not only Dark Aura is equal to factory+roads at level 10, it's applied to ALL your villages/towns. FREE PRODUCTIVITY!!! Dont lose that! I am a fucking idiot for let that go too soon.

3. Say you got leadership1, which mean your hero get 5 cohorts. An archer hero got 5*10 troops. Say that hero got maxAP 8. To pass all 50 archers into towns or other carriers, you need 8AP. 25? 4AP? you do the math. Take the troop doesnt cost AP though.

I repeat that dont lose your DA. You can save money to buy metals, buy woods if it's cheap, buy stones if it's cheap then stock all of them in your capital. Stock elsewhere wont go into tribute, even in your heroes stationed in capital.

Tips to increase productivity:

Build a Builder(s) to build stuffs only. Your serfs are better off making money or harvesting stuffs.

Get to town then build factory. Upgrade it to maximum avaible which is 13. All towns.

Build roads only in town specialized in harvesting resources. towns that produce troops, smiths, or gold doesnt need roads just yet. upgrade it to 13 soonest.

one town with all kind of troops wont have enough space for smiths or workshop. One town with smiths or workshop should build a school, market (to get goods from international market), one Builder. The third? Factory+Roads and harvesting stuffs. Or be the second troop centre.

How do I renew or scuttle my out of date machinery?

If you click on its profile, as if it were a hero and you wanted to allocate stat/combat points, then click dismantle unit, and any action should destroy the machinery, if you accidentally click dismantle, you get one chance to cancel, any other action will destroy the unit.
