It's an outro, not a intro, but a very good one for the game.

System Shock intro still gives me chills to this day. Love how you get caught hacking, a message pops up telling you to stay where you are, and then heavily armored corporate security team blasts your door down. With no exposition at all, in less than 2 mins, you know everything you need to know about the world in which this game takes place.

Shadow of the Comet has a great intro too, really gets you into the mood. Fantastic music, but not a fan of the voice acting though.

Classic adventure game introductions are underrated in threads like these, I think. Perhaps because their intros weren't discrete prerendered cinematics but more like a non-interactive part of the game itself.

Space Quest IV's opening, for example, doesn't seem as memorable as some of what people have posted above, but I remember it being consistently a lot of fun to watch.

Yes it was an utterly shameless ripoff of Mos Eisley (among other things), but back then we didn't care. It was just so cool seeing stuff like this on your screen.

It was a simpler time, today it would be sued to hell and back by didney.
Also, Aluminum Mallard never fails to give me a chuckle.

The intros were a big reason why i played these games.
