Hi,

users reported this kind of issue before and we could never figure out what is going on.

This most likely either happens because you have a client mod enabled that plays those sound files or because somehow instead of the intro video a youtube video is played.

So clear the steam's web browser cache (Steam -> Settings -> Web Browser -> Delete Browser Cache)

Edit: Futhermore make sure nothing gets played by steam's music player (View -> Music Player

I just got this too. Haven't touched the game since 2013, had the game highlighted thinking about playing it, then this audio starts up. Freaks me tf out 'cos he's on about the end of the world and♥♥♥♥♥♥haha. Open up volume mixer to find the source, and it shows multiple instances of firefox even though it's not running. What a fun night haha

Just happened to me when i tried to install NS 2 so i think ill just avoid this game and leave it uninstalled lol shame it was seeming like a fun game to play.

well i cleared my mod and web cache, but the issue still persists. this must be something directly coded into the background, where it opens up a hidden browser page, because as soon as the video ends it autoplays to another one. i am not sure how I would go about fixing this, but this whole thing is weird. the person in the video is so closely dedicated to ns1 but isn't giving constructive feedback for ns2. the whole thing seems to hint that he was close to development of the earlier game, which is understandable why he would hate to see it go. Im just confused about why he took the time to set it up.
