One can only No Win Scenario
I don't remember this story: When did you guys beat No Win? I'm still trying to organize a run of it, since the rest of you people are miserable slackers with the attention spans of proverbial goldfish. It's hard enough to just PLAY it, let alone win.
All I need is a time and a date, and I will be there.

i like difficult scenarios but i hate to be forced to use specific builds or, even worse, flavour-of-the-month builds.
can i be useful too anyway?

Yeah, any chance of beating it without an Escort and a severe case of autism?

I'm not sure what the current estimated best ship is, but when we last did build-up the best ship was actually a tactically-oriented beam cruiser that could Aux2Bat to maintain FAW3.

Fire at will?? That was one of the most useless skills ever.. Have they boosted it somehow? Otherwise my trusty Tac Od should be able to do it with a few Boff modifications

Autism not required. Escort...quite possibly. There's a specific breed of ship that is ideal for doing it: Science-Escorts. On the Fed side, the Promtheus was a popular one, as well as the various Lockbox Edition ones. The S'Golth is an ideal candidate, and it's one of the most underappreciated, dirt-cheap Lockbox Ships on the Exchange.

They borked, unborked, reborked, rewrote, etc., and in its current incarnation, people now whine that it is OP.

Any interest in playing Artemis: Bridge Simulator? It seems like a pretty hardcore sim where you need a team of 6 real people, each person manning a specific station on the bridge of a ship.
The notion occurred to me, that if you put together a team of 6 actual guys, I would probably whoop your ass multiboxing it myself.

Well, a lot has changed...

First of all, players now have a fuckload more Power to toss around thanks to Warp/Singularity Cores, so beamboats can have a bigger drain buffer. Secondly, Cruisers now have auras, the universally available one being -25% to all weapon power drain. And most importantly, first Cryptic fixed the power drain issues with FAW (though then they somehow broke FAW's ability to crit for nearly a month), so now FAW is beast mode for Cruisers that can Aux2Bat. Now PvP cannonscort-fags are butthurt that beamboats have teeth.

That's the short version of the last few months of FAW drama.

Ah, there's nothing quite like STO escortfag butthurt. I guess I'd better enjoy it while it lasts, before the whining reaches critical mass and they reduce it to uselessness again because we all know those little bitches get everything they want each time their insane advantage gets challenged and the forums explode in butthurt.

By aura do you mean "cruiser commands"? Because I noticed those, they are p. cool. So is the new interface. Dyson Sphere story missions are a massive disappointment though.

The key thing about Dyson Sphere is that the place is super-duper-lazytime compared to what you had to do with Rommie/Omega/Nukanuka rep. ~3 minutes of work a day? Whee!

Yeah, it's way easier than Cure Space. Or was that Infected space? The one where you have to babysit the damaged Klingon ship from the Klingon Zerg rush.

Ok, next question. Where can I train an officer in fire at will 3? Does any of the fancypants fleet stuff help with that?

Hahah. You...really have been away, haven't you? Nowadays we faceroll those missions for lulz, doing all the reckless shit that you used to be told never to do, BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE.

That is trained by a Tac Captain.

Was hoping there's another way as I want to train the officer that's already on my ship.. You can only send reserve officers to other players for training if I remember correctly

Nah only a few exceptions like Androids and premium officers can't be sent to other people for training.

Meh. If they gave me a ship that was actually worth something, I might consider their shitty fake Steam.

Also, who Crispy™'ed the thread and changed the name?

It's the sign that a hangar pet just "leveled up". Hangar pets have this special mechanic where when launched they start out at level zero, but the longer they are active in combat the better % bonus to their attributes they get, up to five levels (IIRC equal to 25% bonus or whatever).

and having a level 5 pet means it takes two belches in its face to explode instead of only one.

Was one of the design goals for the Fed Dyson ship "as ugly as it can possibly be"? Seriously, my eyes start burning every time one of these monstrosities flies by.

And I can't believe Cryptic had the gall to offer a $100 9-pack of these ships and refer to it as a "deal" in comparison to buying them individually.

Come on, you know there is more to that.

They offer a set thats incomplete because the Secondary Deflector that is the 4th part of the console set only comes with the Anniversary Grind ship, meaning say I start a new character a month from now, I can never get the full set because the secondary deflector is no longer available, same with the Warp/Singularity core that is part of a space set.

They are trying to sell a $100 set thats just 3/4 of a ship with the other 1/4 being a grindam because metrics and thats not even going over aesthetics because they bridge is a rush job of the Obelisk bridge, plus I found this tweet "It is a Federation ship. Can't not look like something that it is" from one of the ship designers thats fucking hilarious because if they added say a B5 Whitestar to the Fed shipyard it would be a Federation ship because its on the Fed shipyard, its only a Federation ship because its there ... not because it looks like it and mind you, I like the guy that actually put the impulse grills on the Steamrunner saucer as a option but still I cannot accept that reasoning over it being a Fed ship.

Also I am not exactly impressed on that ship from what I seen on STFs either, I suspect that after a while people will calm their tits and go back to their old ships because from what I seen people are trying to fly this as a escort and there are FAR better escorts and far better science ships, if you visit the forums you notice how defensive some people got over this ship when someone cames and say "well this doesnt work very well" because they want so hard to hold on the idea this grindan ship was worth the grind but even them will end up going back to their old ships.
