  2. I was tempted to pick the 'I am gay' option but I decided on 'No'.

I don't want to stream games from somewhere else, I want to have them on my computer, and I want the quality to be perfect. Also when I buy something I expect to be able to have complete access to it, not rent it off someone else.

Also my internet connection isn't fiber-optic, it is plain old broadband and so it probably wouldn't even be that good anyway.

This could be a good thing for PC gamers, developers putting full game up but letting us play for an hour or two as a demo (since there are hardly any demo releases for PC, which actually needs them).

But I won't touch this service.

Well well well, what do we have here?

    Found on Fargo's twitter
"Just received an email that OnLive is closed as of today!"

    :incline:

    Edit:
Fargo: "Apparently a new company will be formed but everyone is losing their job. Don't know what that means."

How long before this 'new' company folds and a new emerge?

That's good. Cloud gaming is an abomination that hopefully shall never take off.

Didn't see this one coming, no sir.
Even I would make a better decision. Next time they should ask me for business advice.

Lemme guess... It will be called OffDead ?

Unfortunately it may just be a shuffling of corporate entities and not the death of cloud gaming, but it's good news indeed.

  18. OnLive was all about taking power away from PC gamers. It was basically console gaming except you didn't have your own copy of the game - it was just some shitty subscription-based rental service. At least with XBL and PSN it is yours to keep. Also, you didn't have the files installed on your PC, forbidding customisation and modding. Finally, unless you lived in a country with first-rate ultra-fast broadband, the quality of the game iitself was vastly inferior to the real thing - I'm talking low resolutions, low FPS, bells and whistles turned off, and disconnects. No wonder it has failed, you'd have to be crazy to want it. If you don't like PC gaming, if you make up shitty excuses like "I don't have enough money for a gaming PC", get a fucking console.

When I saw this thread I assumed the worst and was about to post how surprised I am to see that they are still in business.

Shame about the employess, but oh well.

I love it when a plan comes together. So, did Xi leave out of shame? Maybe he should get a consolation ban?

It's the fault of too many gamers with good systems who could have saved money on hardware by just subscribing to a great service

once again PC gamers kill honest companies
