I misgendered the catgirls and said bad things about soycialism on Bryce's review site. Someone on OSRG called me a fascist (ok, whatever), but then someone on the catgirl discord called me a liberal. That hurts. :negative:
I did in fact write Castle Xyntillan, which will be in its third printing as of tomorrow! +M

I’m lurking all that. Hurts to see people behaving like that. They are a disgrace to the community and to the internet in general.
I bought Xyntillan, I’m running it and you did an excellent job. Your blog is great, your tips are great. Wish they could do at least half of what you do to the hobby. But no, they don’t have the interest, talent or the balls to do it. That ‘s a shame.
And you were a true Codexer out there, sir. Not the stupid kind, if you know what I mean. For all that, I salute you! And anxiously awaiting for your next endeavors. Congrats!

Is this drama storm in a teacup level or some idiots trying deplatform nonsense?

Also god I want to buy Xyntillian but still playing in it. I just hope by the time we end of adventure there still print copies avaliable.

Thank god no one can ever truly claim to own the osr scene or be its lone voice.

Idiots like those can build their shoddy walled gardens and be deprived of choice and diverse experiences while everyone else can just simply enjoy.

Most of the biggest shit-stirrers in the OSR don't make very good work, and the people who do make the best work don't really mingle with the community. You think Greg Gillespie knows who any of these people are? lmao

I ran Xyntillian using my H.E.D.S system. It translated over pretty well but the players aren't used to funhouse dungeons like that and decided not to go back after three sessions. Mind you, it wasn't nearly as fast a drop as Veins of the Earth, where they literally saw one single fossil vampire, and used gunpowder barrells to collapse the entrance lmao

Hoes be mad.:positive:Xyntillan will remain available in the foreseeable future, too, so no rush.

I admire Kevin Crawford's chill; he just hovers overhead like a distant deity, emerging occasionally to drop a new stone tablet among us.

Necrotic Gnome's Gavin seems pretty cool as well, or at least his Facebook groups are* strictly non-political, and that's good enough for me.

* well, were in 2020, at least, I've not logged in since...

His Discord channel is good enough too.

Crawford is dope indeed. Never checked Necrotic Gnome but I like his OSE. I'm planning on using it for my next campaign after I finish my current OD&D one.

Gavin is well organized and listen to feedback. And his changes, as far as I can see, always have some real thought behind it. The best part is that he talks almost entirely about rpg stuff, his stuff, not the usual nonsense that no one with half a brain cares about. Only one time That I saw him talking about other stuff was when he was sad about some random comment that Zak S. Made about OSE percentage xp bonus, but that was it.

He bitched about the prime requisites of the halfling class, saying he will not check OSE because this kind of rule is nonsense, something like that. He wrote only a twitter about it. I believe it is because lamentations was in decline at the time and OSE was the new hot stuff the kids was changing to.

Update 31 of the OSE Advanced Fantasy Kickstarter. Rulebooks are in the warehouses but now the adventures need to be printed and also shipped before everything gets sent out.

Rule Books in Warehouses! Adventures Going to Print!

Hey everyone,

We have news of some great progress today!

The Rule Books Have Arrived in the Warehouses!
  • US warehouse: The sea voyage to the US and the (sometimes lengthy) import process are complete! We now have approximately 15,000 Old-School Essentials books in the US warehouse! If you want to see what 15,000 books look like (packed up in boxes and crates, of course), see the video below.
  • EU warehouse: The European portion of the books (about 7,000 books) arrived in the warehouse in Germany some time ago. (It wasn't a very long journey.)
  • UK warehouse: We'll be shipping the UK portion of books from the EU warehouse to the UK shortly.
When does fulfillment begin? As mentioned in the previous update, fulfillment will begin when the adventures have been printed and arrive in the warehouses. (The 22,000 books mentioned above are just the Advanced Fantasy rule books — printing of the adventures is only just beginning.)

Adventures Going to Print!
We've sent off the files for five adventures to the printers today! All going well, that means that printing should begin in the next week or so. Five adventures? Yes, we're printing three new adventures (The Incandescent Grottoes, Halls of the Blood King, and Isle of the Plangent Mage) plus doing reprints of two older adventures (The Hole in the Oak and Winter's Daughter). (As discussed in the previous update, Holy Mountain Shaker will be printed at a later date.)

Adventure PDFs Coming Soon!
The PDF of Winter's Daughter was sent out yesterday to those of you who selected it as an add-on. We'll be sending out the PDFs of the other adventures over the next week or so. Prepare for serious (digital) gorgeousness!

Where are the links? All PDFs are being fulfilled via DriveThruRPG. Download codes will be sent to the email you have registered with your Kickstarter account. Please make sure to check your spam folders etc.

Cleric and Magic-User Spell Tracker PDF
A little free PDF was just released which you might like to download: the Cleric and Magic-User Spell Tracker. What does it include?

  • Complete cleric and magic-user spell lists, including summaries of spell effects.
  • Check boxes for memorized spells and spells in a magic-user's spell book.
  • Form-fillable PDF.
Suitable for use with any class that uses spells from the cleric or magic-user spell lists. (e.g. also paladins, elves, drow, etc.)

All For Now
We'll keep you posted as printing of the adventures progresses and the PDFs are sent out.

So White Hack 3e will be a thing

For those who've played it how is it? Never tired the white or black hacks

The white and black hack are the best thing to happen to tabletop in ages. There's so much brilliance in the two combined, I made my system which is largely a mashup of the two.

3E is out right now apparently

I'm interested but not 10-dollar interested for minor changes that I don't need for my games. And quite frankly, the typography and layout are still disgusting.

Well, Peter Adkinson is pretty rich, he might get some serious funding from the fucking guy. Everyone said that Hulk Hogan was a retard for suing Gawker and he got 150 million(later settled to like, 30 million or something) at the end of it. Let's hope Peter Adkinson doesn't try the Daulerio gambit.

I gave a quicklook at it. Seems good so far. The new ones are bigger in page count than the last ones. And he changed the overall genearl info a little bit. Comparing the old Hole in the Oak with the new one shows that.

The Vampires one has a sweet looking cover, and I've read through the prompt and setting and it sounds fun.

Not that I've played any TTRPG since High School, but I like to fantasize I will one day.

The art in that is very cool, but don't reflect the content very well. At least not in the map department.
