Doom 4 is also in the same price range and it will last you for eight hours max. People still bought, played and enjoyed it so why not Overwatch.
Because TF2 costs you $0.

And I'd actually argue the customization is inferior in Overwatch. Aside from the 'legendary' skins that change the outfit design, the other stuff is pretty tame. That is, the epic and rare skins only change the color scheme of the baseline outfits. It's a lot easier to get an wacky looking hat for pick whatever class in TF2 than it is to get a legendary skin in Overwatch.

And then there's other trivial shit clogging up the loot boxes like sprays, voice emotes, and 'play of the game' poses.

it's a shame that going f2p flooded every american tf2 server with 12 year old peruvian kids. maybe tf2 is not a good example to use.

I'm totally fine with this. One of the things I hate the most about cosmetics is when they change the silhouette of the character. So far Blizzard has done a decent job at keeping their skins tasteful and in theme (besides that awful firefighter Mei legendary). Some of the non-legendaries are pretty underrated, like the green Pharah skin, or solid color Mercy skins.

I think not having a marketplace is a very good idea. Real money marketplaces are an enormous pain in the ass to manage, and incentivizes criminal activity. I think Blizzard learned this the hard way when they had the Real Money Auction House in a certain other game.

I felt that the Overwatch universe was missing a little something. It's implied that there are significant racial(?) tensions between humans and The Omnic, so I tried to do my best to represent the subtle and serious ways in which these tensions might manifest in their universe. Please enjoy.

I never wall ride with Lucio on console, too much hassle. Other thing I noticed is Torbjon is insanely overpowered on console compared to pc. Don't know why, but all I do is stick my turret on the payload, crouch down to repair and instant win. Tried doing the same on my pc and got blasted almost every time. Yesterday on the PS4 I put my turret in the middle of the objective on London Row, the other side couldn't get onto it because it was destroying anyone who came near. It can't be that every console player sucks, so I guess it has to be a balance issue.

Wow you actually paid for this piece of shit more than once?

Mindgames too stronk.

That KotH section is one of my favs. Lots of stupid shit you can do with that well. A really simple one is just pulling people into it with roadhog. Simple, unoriginal, and still fun every time.

So I am done with this game for good, friends be damned. Widowmaker is the very definition of anti-fun. In many ways she is the anti-bastion since she is terrible in the hands of a bad player but unstoppable with a good player.

I am consistently at the point where I meet Widowmakers with pocket healers or body guards which essentially means that I need to slap someone over the head and tell them to come with me to flank her and even then its hit or miss. I am talking about Widowmakers that double headshot Winston when he charges her. Power to them but it makes the gameplay unplayable for me because it leads to the inevitable question "What counters a Widowmaker? Another Widowmaker" which is something I hate because it is immensely incompetent design in a rock/paper/scissors based game and because I dislike the sniper archetype so I don't want to be forced to play her.

But the cherry on top is the ultimate. Most of my plays in this game aren't because I have great aim, my mechanics are average. Most of them are based on map knowledge and awareness, trying to get the drop on the enemy team or playing mind games. The Widowmaker ult completely destroys this aspect of the game and all she needs is 1 or 2 bad players to farm (which there almost are) to have it up for almost every important engagement.
