Owlcat Games is proud to announce our newest creation — The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, a third-person sci-fi action RPG set in the universe of The Expanse.

By the 24th century, humanity has conquered the cosmos. However, life has remained anything but easy. Assume the role of a Pinkwater Security mercenary whose brief shore leave on the Eros station spirals into chaos. A station-wide lockdown cuts you off from the outside world, dragging you into a solar system-wide conspiracy far larger than you could ever have imagined. To survive, you’ll have to adapt quickly, lead and unite a fractured crew, and take command of the most advanced ship in the whole of the solar system.

So it's based on the TV series (or novels, whatever...) ?

FML Owlcat I'm not impressed. I hope a deep dive on the mechanics will make me feel better...

2007 called and it wants its popamole back.
I notice a trend in games after 2022

Evil West? Bulletstorm but good.
BG3? Dragon Age but good.
Fall of Avalon? Skyrim but good.
Expedition 33? Lost Odyssey but good.
Blades of Fire? Dark Souls but good.
Space Marine 2? Gears of War but good.
Vladik Brutal? HL2 but good.

And now, we get Mass Effect but good.

It seems Owlcat prefers sci-fi to fantasy so if we ever get another Pathfinder crpg it would be Iron Gods for sure.

The Expanse was such a slow-moving, boring show, what gives?
The Expanse is the most popamole mass-market scifi show imaginable
I mean, it had action scenes, but practically nothing of note happens in most episodes. The entire story could have been condensed into something far shorter without losing any of the key story beats. Most of the show is filler.

That's why it has such a mass market appeal, stupid people like stupid easily consumable slop

It has reasonably hard sci fi. About the only thing the books and the show didn't factor for is radiation. But the low-and-zero g scenes alone are all worth every damn minute of the thing.

It's better at the start, but takes a nosedive from s5 onwards. Naomi's family drama was puke inducing.

Do the Belters ever properly revolt from the UN/Mars? Seems like so much time was spent building them up about how they wanted to be independent, but it didn't seem to go anywhere after the portals to other worlds were discovered.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Takes ITT:

Now, which one is it? Mass market wants incessant action and hot romances.

Granted, I've only watched S1-S3, but it was decent, better than decent at times. My only gripe was the extremely whiny main character. There is a lot more popamole scifi series out there.

They do. They kill like 10 billion Earthers with asteroids covered with stolen Martian stealth tech. But it is overshadowed by the aforementioned family drama, cuz the main rebel leader and his right-hand man* are Naomi's old lover and their son respectively.

*that might be a tad too high for the lad, actually, but he is the main POV character for the Belter rebellion side.
