Another mediocre Owlcat game, wonder when they can finally compete with Larian.
They didn't received the memo from Josh Sowyer, that no one can make another cRPG after BG3.
Larian is most likely going to pivot into the dating sim/H-game genre considering what qualities made BG3 successful. They will be competing with Tyranicon , not Owlcat.

So they'll copy-paste the sourcebooks of the DH regarding the story, right?

Warhammer isn't the issue here, the IP is actually pretty cool. The real problem is Owlcat, whose artistic style feels like something off Cartoon Network. Also their games center around bland minigames like kingdom management or ship combat to cut corners and stretch playtime. They avoid proper RPG design, likely due to lack of talent. I gave up on their games due to constant system bloat and class bloat.

the fucking forced mini games are the worst
2 hours in bait-and-switch:
"hey actually half the game is this shitty tedious dumbed down version of homm LOL have fun"

I'm wondering what kind of minigame will they bloat the game with this time

Never got the hate for Owlcat's mini-games. They provide an important layer of distraction from the main adventure, which serves as a wonderful palate cleanser - a short breather that only makes you appreciate the main story more.

It puts me in the mind of Space Rangers - the main tactical layer is the meat and the essence of the game, but it wouldn't be as legendary without the iconic text adventures, arcade battles in hyperspace and missions on the planet surface.

What worries me more is the full voice acting, which could detract from other areas, like the number of NPCs and companions, the richness of text, the amount of dialogue choices and everything else related to dialogue and text narrative. It's not like Owlcat mechanics appeal to the non-RPG crowd, so going further in the mainstream direction is questionable.

Never played any of OwlCat games, but I am willing to give this one a go as a first-time experience. Love the 40k Universe and got a craving after Space Marine 2 so will keep an eye on this one for sure!

I quite liked Rogue Trader until the game started to torture me with warp travel and ship combat. I wish that Owlcat would just focus on the actual cRPG part instead of bloating their games with stupid gimmicks. Maybe they will be more focussed with this one.

Is this a reference to Sandy Mitchell's Dark Heresy books? Would be cool if they would be the source for this, but probably no such luck
