Bought it straight away. 23 gigs for an isometric indie? Hmmm Interesting! My expectations are very high for that one. Also just 5 achievements in total???

Engage in Turn-Based & Real-Time Combat: Use both turn-based and real-time elements – drawing on real medieval weapons and tactics.

Does that mean a toggle? Or is that an awkward description of RTwP?

It's an awkward description of RTwP. You can set up tactics, styles of fighting, etc. depending on enemies so I guess that's what's meant by the "turn-based elements"

Can RTWP fucking die already? It was a 20 year old experiment, it failed miserably, yet it persists. Either go ARPG Diablo style or make it turn-based. This half and half shit pleases neither group and just makes the game garbage. It is like using Robotic Process Automation (RPA, Basically click a button and the game plays itself) for repetitive boring tasks in an office sucking the life and fun out of the game. ARPG gives you the action fix and keeps it lean, Turn-Based let's you get your tactics on. This is just a watered down hybrid that is bad at both.

Couldn't agree more. It was a broken system from day one, and hasn't got better one bit.

Dungeon Master style combat is far superior, single-player ARPG combat is far superior, this is just a horrible attempt to make party-based tactics "real-time".

Also, game looks like shit—the Geneforge remake looks far better.

I fucking hate that spergy clickfest combat of ARPGs. I'd rather have the ability to pause at any given moment and choose my next action in peace than having to react in real time all the time.
also try managing combat with full party control and different classes in pure real time. chances are you'll just let AI do its thing without giving any commands at all. screensavers like Dungeon Siege are superior to Icewind Dale, huh?
this narrative that every combat system in existence, even this ADHD nonstop clicking crap, is superior to RTwP is immensely tiring.

To those who are playing it already: are the story and dialogues any good? I don't care whether the combat is good, so what about the story, and NPCs, etc?
