That fight is stupid (like most things in Shitmaker) because out of all the characters, they had to make you duel with your effing tank. I didn't invest a single attacking feat/skill/etc into Valerie. So basically, neither of them could hit each other for 2 hours, while I fell asleep, until finally the other guy barely won later that evening.

Forget about bug reports, devs ignore them. Send them your dick picks instead, they be sure to not ignore that.
They have yet to respond to any of my bug reports, that I have been sending since RELEASE DAY! Fucking wankers.

Have you idiots submitted them in Russian though? I bet those devs can't read English at all.

Owlcat dev 1: <in Russian> Comrade, we keep getting bombarded by all these emails and forum posts, but they are all written in some unholy gibberish, I can't make head or tail of it!
Owlcat dev 2: Relax, comrade, it's probably just our fans from around the world, telling us how great the game is. Take a look at this one for example, it's from some American named Gregz, something about "DM", "PnP", "Sadism", and "bad".
Owlcat dev 1: Wait, I remember in second grade, I had an English class in school. Bad, bad, oh yes, bad means bed. You know bed you sleep in.
Owlcat dev 2: You see? These guys love us so much, they want to sleep with us.
Owlcat dev 1: Hail Putin!
Owlcat dev 2: Hail Putin!

Valerie's quest is the 2nd worst quest in Kingmaker, after the incomparable Hellknights one. In Valerie's quest, first you fight a fight that you are not expected to win, and then in the ultimate stage you are given a non-choice if you want the "quest" to succeed. That's not a quest, that is basically a fucking cutscene.

I guess the developers were scared of pissing off the players who romanced Val (as she is the sole romanceble straight lady- Octavia is bi, right?), and ended up doing BS like that.

Well, on Challenging this fight with the paladin was not that bad for me. Valerie can use all the potions and scrolls before the fight, and it is after Troll's Trouble, so the money should not be as problematic as in the beginning. On the other hand, I have not invested in UMD on her; the next playthrough I will make it a priority.

My party is fully decked out with outflank and combat reflexes.

Every encounter is a regular episode of

It is very disturbing.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Reinstalled the game with no mods and DLC. Came to the conclusion that you can turn off tooltips ingame and it works, but as soon as you save and reload they come back. Even though it says they're off under tutorial messages.

Can't believe I'm the only autist that has a problem with this/have this issue. Have submitted a bug report on the GOG forums.

What do you mean? There are two options to complete her quest without failure.
Second resolution is fairly neutral one: "yeah yeah, i'll stop badmouthing you and your Godess on every corner, just fuck off already".

Fredero kept slipping during the duel, it was quite unfortunate for him.

On higher difficulty you can probably still cheese it by using like 10 persistent ground effect spells and freedom of movement+reach weapon on Val.

LOL at recruiting the "Rusty Dogs" (Kingdom Management Opportunity) with Regongar!

Now, once one gets over the faggotry of the situation, this is actually the good game making that we have been discussing in the other thread. Regongar has "it", so he might as well use "it".

No citation, see for yourselves.

buff her to hell before encounter?
im not sure if it works (or ever did) but i vaguely remember you could "drink" alchemist fires from inventory and it cast them at your feet so you could use it if you got a bunch lying around
Even with megabuffs that fight is very hard to win.

For a moment I thought your avatar was Rance, and I just imagined how he would react to this whole scenario. Normally you get wrecked, but Rance would just be like "GYAHAHA, I WILL DEAL WITH THESE PETS THEN TAKE YOU ROUGHLY FROM BEHIND. I WONDER IF NYMPH PUSSY IS POISONOUS? GYAHAHA." Followed by gratuitous hentai porn scenes

It depends on how you build her. I use Valerie as my main damage dealer/tank. She hogs most of the gear but I am pretty satisfied by her performance.

Also "Bladed Plate" armour is really good way to win that fight if you can boost your AC enough. Guy just kills himself.

Oh, interesting. I hadn't thought of thorn-type strategies.

It provokes my autism greatly.
they added that option because those that werent familiar with pathfinder had no way of learning enemy stats/abilities/etc and even then those were mostly modified in some way. it also requires skill checks by your characters to function. it is also turned off by default.

I won't keep trolling the thread further with this, so have taken it to GOG. But if you are referring to 'immersion mode' under the difficulty settings - it is off by default, but it needs to be turned on to enable immersion mode. Default = x (off) and Immersion mode = (tick) on.

Off at default (X-off) under combat text: all settings set to 'off' when the tick is enabled.
Party information goes from (X - off) 'on selection' to: 'Never' when the tick is enabled.
Enemy information in combat goes from (X-off) 'on mouse hover' to 'never' when the tick is enabled. Except for enemy HP and names which have to be manually changed.

So thanks for your reply which I assume was an attempt to make me look like a total retard, but even if it was off by default; and it was this setting you were referring to, it still has no effect on what the game says it does, or the stat page that I'm referring to. Which I have only been able to disable temporarily with tutorial messages.

That's another thing about Shitmaker: Look at the pictures of Nyrissa, like the one above, is this what passes for a beautiful nymph that tries to seduce you in Russia? Looks like not just a man, but a very ugly man, and not just a very ugly man, but a very, very ugly man that just emerged from nuclear submarine accident. When she first offered herself to me in a dream, I was like, bitch, I will do multiple quests so we DON'T hook up!

I'm done with Pitax, so I guess I'm getting fairly close to the end of the game.

I'm still finding it very enjoyable. The encounter design is really well done. Even in the areas where there are a lot of fights, combat never feels like a chore.

Hard difficulty is pretty enjoyable (except in the early game, where it makes it way too hard to hit anybody). There aren't many fights that you can manage purely on auto-pilot.

The kingdom management is okay, but it gets a bit repetitive after a while and some choices don't seem to have very significant consequences.

If there's one thing that I find really annoying, it's "Hey, it seems you have found part of the Golden Bikini of Calistria ! If you managed to find all 87 pieces, I could put them back together !". Collecting dozens of useless items throughout the entire game, knowing that you have to search even the smallest bushes if you really want to complete any set, is a pain in the ass. In BG2, it was much simpler and better : either you found parts of a weapon that had to be reassembled, but there were only 2 or 3 of them, or you found a weapon/armor that you could use immediately, but that could be improved with items that you'd find at a later point.

Yeah that collection mechanism is fucking annoying. It'd be perfectly fine if all the parts for a given item were holed up in ONE dungeon, but having them all over the fucking place is a fucking ballache

Yeah, also a lot of those are behind perception checks which can be very random sometimes
