fine, fine i'll respec. I'll respec right into a strength-based sword saint build!!!111

Jokes aside seems like SS/Monk with possible dip into Fighter is optimal Saint build, because of getting Crane bullshit and also having Monk-benefit of adding WISDOM modifer to your AC on top of your Saint's INT modifer to AC as well.

Seems pretty optimal I guess?

i thought about monk dipping for the crane shit, but i want to pick light armor feat instead.
That's a really, really poor decision. Also, if you;re going to be a Sword Saint, which means you'll have plenty of Dex and Int, you should be the party's chief trickery/mobility/arcana & world knowledge specialist. Will get thousands of exp.

UPD: NO STR SWORD SAINT! Do a dex based one specialized in scimitar. Prioritize Dex and cha, make two dips : a lvl 1 monk (scaled fist, cha to ac) and lvl 2 pally (cha to saves), the rest goes into sword saint. Don't forget the above advice, you'll need fast lvl ups. Int should be 14-16 max, the rest you can raise via items.

Right now I'm trying to go up a few levels before tackling Sycamore Tree.
Free advice, but if you have Jhod at Oleg's, he sells a specific scroll that will be tremendously useful once you get there. I'll just let find out by yourself which one it is ;)

This is something I've not seen even in actual old school RPGs - Carrying and actually having to use scrolls and specific potions "just in case". Which is good.

Good thing you went for dex based sword saint cause one handed str weapons are treated as two handed which cancels their spell combat. Yet another bug in bugfinder glitchmaker. Sword saint can use light armor and even with a dex based sword saint may be worth wearing light armor over ac you get from dex.

I wish they implemented the advanced fighter feats.

So anyone found any items they picked up early and that could be used much later (kind of like how you could pick up a dead cat at start of the game in IWD2 and then use it to scare away one of the end boss lieutenants)? And don't say Rope (or crowbar) :D

The amulet the Nymph gives you. Not sure if it's bugged though.

Uhm, no. This part is actually working properly. You can toggle spell combat on/off from the interface and switch between 1h style and 2h style at will.

Wands and even scrolls are surpisingly useful in final stage when you can't cast spells. In particular wand of Greater Invisibility is god tier item for Octavia before you significantly weaken the curse.

Tartuccio's present.

Though with how skill checks give XP it's a trap choice.

What specifically is it about Sirocco that's devastating? Just the damage output, or the auto-fatigue?
It's Evocation that targets Fortitude. Main enemies are Fey and suck against it, unlike Will and Reflex which they literally auto-pass regardless of how well you're built. Well, I may exaggerate but it is a fairly simple choice: target lowest or target highest save.

Also like Stinking Cloud or Greater Shout I think SR doesn't affect it, and enemies feature something like their CR+5 of SR by being Fey/First World Template.
Most importantly, it is a damage spell that doesn't have a Reflex save, which means Evasion is useless against it.

Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
I'll finish this playthrough, then I'll play Assassins Creed, Deadfire with all expansions, then I'll come back to PK, just to make another playthrough as a Chaotic Evil.

Holy shit, I'm so excited! :bounce: :bounce::bounce:

The only thing this game is missing is Deadfier-tier companion behavior control. Without it, it's amazing, but if it had it... god-tier.

That, and more options to turn off individual UI/feedback elements, and turn ON more as well, like for example I'd like to have map markers always displayed.

The only thing (Other than the bugs) that really brings it down for me are the load times. They aren't bad enough to completely put me off playing, but there have been times when I play something else just because I don't feel like loading in to PK. The more I play of PK the more I like it though. Barony management is still pretty fucky but even that I've come to appreciate more. Namely the "Advisor wants you to come to the throne room to nag you" moments. It's a small touch how each character will say things in their own way and personality but it adds a lot to it. I had the priestess of Lamashtu as my councilor and she was bitching at me about having to deal with arty things, and given how PK works I'm thinking about removing Harrim and making her high priestess instead since she'd like it more, and since she doesn't like her current position she might turn on me or leave or something.

I guess another minor thing to bitch about while I'm thinking about it, the fiddly "Collect the pieces of the artifact" shit encourages crawling over every inch of every map but the huge-ass length of the game disincentivizes it. If/when I replay PK I sure as hell won't want to slowly drag my ass over every nook and cranny of every map again, yet the artifact collection shit is kind of fun. You get XP, sometimes a cool item, gold, some fluff, etc. To be fair the map crawling isn't all that great even if the game was shorter, it's just that the game is so huge as it is it makes it feel even worse. Compare it to tearing through BG at high speed when you know the story and location of key shit compared to playing it for the first time and fully filling every map and opening every clickable barrel and shit, only some of those barrels contain the piece of a cool magic item. Would've liked it if the pieces were placed on key opponents or in chests in key areas rather than "Well in the upper left corner of this generic forest map there's a spot check to find a bush that has a piece of an artifact in it".

It's really not worth it for a Sword Saint. It's worth it if you are maximising the attribute that feeds into both your Magus casting and your Monk AC modifier. So, an Eldritch Scion/Scaled Fist.

In any other situation, forget it. Just stay pure.

i was joking. i ended up deciding to disrespect the game after all, the temptation of respeccing everybody into better builds was too great!

MC: (eventually) fighter/saint 5/15 - dueling blade (because of how many good ones there are in the game), max DEX and above-average INT and above-average WIS, this time made sure that i won't be getting WILL-raped.

Amiri: (Barb) Invulnerable Rager, no multiclassing - switched her to Earth breaker to have some damage type variety, plus that enlarged sword has size penalties in combat, Maximum STR and above-average dex and con. gave her Iron Will early.

Valerie: (eventually) paladin/fighter 2/18 - two-weapon fighting + shield bash / shield focus, using longsword in main-hand and light-shield in off-hand, even stat spread between STR/DEX (needs 15 dex to qualify for TWF) and CHA for the paladin saves.

harram: pure cleric, standard heavy mace + shield build, gonna dump him out of the party anyway for nok-nok. Very even spread of stats.

linzi: pure bard, standard ranged-bard build. Gave her max DEX and max CHA, dumped the rest.

For when I get them...

Jaheira: probably gonna leave her Inquisitor

nok-nok: probably gonna leave him rogue

octavia: definitely switching her to pure Wiz

the whole kingdom making part of the game could of been done way better. The games alright I give it 6/10 in its current state. Underrail and battle bros are better games.

Also I still would make strength based sword saint. End of the day 8 hit die fucking sucks for tanking even with good ac you'll get slaughtered especially past normal. Use mirror image or blur is more reliable or just summon a monster and cast blur on it there you go for tanking.

Never mind strength based is useless it used to apply 1.5 bonus to one handed weapon but they fixed spell combat to work how it should so it doesnt. Falcata not worth it.

Just finnished Pitax area and now wild hunt stuff is happening. Pre Pitax was relatively bug free compared to my first playthrough. Guess now it is time to wait for patch or is it possible to finnish game with "best" ending?

If by Best you mean Good-aligned Waifu one then wait.

There are many ways to finish the game including not playing Act 7 at all.

You forgot to add 5-6 Freebooter ranger somewhere. +2 to hit and additional +2 flanking for everyone is nothing to sneeze at.
