By the way Reddit community is waaaay more advanced than Steam-bog. They like, post relevant information and stuff and enjoy the game.

Yes you can rate me Old, I don't really actively participate, but nice to see something different than autistic whining over dumb shit, including useful info like master items and discussion on endgame enemies with their stats dragged out from Pathfinder Bestiary.

Now if only Reddit was presented in a reasonable, easily read format...

Playng a Lawful character is stressful. Most of the dialogue choices involve Neutral and Chaotic options. I'm inclined to take up Lawful Evil options when I'm roleplaying Lawful Good just to get some Lawful points in or risk not being able to level as a Monk.

People claimed that it's very hard to stay one alignment until the end but I didn't have much issues on my CE character. Yes, you most likely move away from your initially perfect alignment but for me it was never bad enough to switch completely. Maybe LG is a different beast but still.

You can 'fix' that: keep trying to talk to little J in the throne room. Guessing you're not getting the dialogue option to complete it? If so, just keep talking to him over and over. It'll happen. Worked for me.
After completing The Door to Nowhere? Good to know, thanks.
You finished Door to Nowhere? Mine stuck ( aka no new card at char description screen, quest finishes but no new card and in journal it says I failed to find a book, despite the fact that I did.)
According to forums, the quest is still counted as "complete" for his ending and triggers the appropriate events later in the game. I just want to know what that last Biography card says, though!

I'm actually really enjoying my LE playthrough, some great dialogue options.

Have any recent patches reduced load times?
I noticed that around the 1.0.13 or so patch the main menu load time increased somewhat, but I've been playing from and SSD the entire time so I never found them to be really bad.

e: I meant DEcreased somewhat. I need some sleep. Derp.

I've got an M.2 SSD and 64 Gigs of RAM, and I literally had to stop playing because of load times. Specifically when doing kingdom management.

Sadly I've played 1.0.13, and didn't notice any real improvements to zone load times...maybe they'll get around to it some day...

Do you have a lot of save files? I believe those have an impact on load times, for whatever convoluted reasons. Probably because of the spaghetti code Owlcat uses.

I'd been holding off starting Pitax because I started running into a few bugs, but couldn't help myself - and damn, I love Irovetti, these guys are really good at writing real charming yet hateable bastards. Plus they put you in a situation where you don't necessarily want to call him out on everything as soon as you get to Rushlight, but you can't just let him alpha you, either. It's great.

Anyone else noticed stuttering slow response time in the menus? I haven't played in a while, but decided to yesterday and it was incredibly annoying, but i also have no idea which ppatch did it because there's been like10 or more since I last played "for real" long enough to jotice a change like this.

I haven't encountered that, but the hotkey for "menu" (Esc) stops working pretty often. Quite annoying.

Yes I do, I'll try that thanks.

Edit: Turns out not that many, I only had about 30 or so.

Including autosaves and quicksaves? Either way that is a lot, if you keep it around 5-8 manual saves you'll notice a massive difference.

So have we bashed the game for not letting you ambush enemies that have required conversations first?

It's what made BG2 so great, and here it's missing.

Want to sneak up on this encounter? Face it with only a single member of your party. Oops you can't, because the canned scripting moves them all over to screw you over. They might as well remove rogues or the option to be evil from the game.

I think Dragon Age sort of numbed everyone to that particular folly a long time ago :D

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
Cheesing and trivializing encounters through cheating in ways that no DM would ever allow is not what 'made BG 2 great' --- though I admit it made soloing it more fun and gave you more tactical options.
But it still leaves a bad aftertaste in that you're trivializing what's meant to be a challenging encounter by cheating the game in a way a DM would absolutely destroy you for.

If you think that made BG 2 great, and not the itemization, quest diversity and encounter design...

Yeah, why i can't spend 2 days of game time to place 10 spike traps in random place for no reason before evul dragon conveniently spawns here?!:argh:

There is a couple of decline design decisions like no pickpocketing, not being able to exit zones during combat and some others like having enemies on your screen but they don't react to you until you get a bit closer (IE games didn't allow you to see enemy, then buff at edge of their activation and then fight, if you wanted to see enemy you scouted ahead with stealth or invisibility).
But with so many bugs and features that need polishing and also with so many things this game did right, we are not complaining about this much.

Menus have been working badly since release. For some (Unity) reasons game 100% your GPU when you are in any menu. That can cause all kinds of problems. For me I cannot watch shows on another screen at the time, 720p shows stutter because game used up all GPU power.
