Only one vote by obvious reasons.

I? I honestly think that except in the class and race variety, Kingmaker > WoTR. My greatest critique towards WoTR is that is too bloated. Even if compared to other high level adventures. Mephistopheles in NWN1:HotU is a enemy which you spend an entire chapter wanting to find his true name to have a tinny chance of victory. In WoTR, he is merely a random enemy in my Azata quest... And is not as if Kingmaker is a low level adventure. You can fight a fey demigod in the game and destroy a spawn of Rovagug, the God of destruction...

Honestly, I wish that OwlCat next Pathfinder Adventure will gonna be Rise of the Runelords which ends around lv 14 and maybe include a NG+ option with the later levels. And is not as if lv 14 is not low level. Adult Red Dragons are CR 14. You can throw hellfire, reduce enemy into dust(Disintegrate) and much more in that lv range. Dark Sun : Wake of the Ravager where you fight a freaking Tarrasque has lv cap = 15 and I defeated two Dark Lords in Ravenloft games at lv 13. Stone Prophet + Strahd possession(importing a save). And only to be clear, I like high level stuff but is pretty hard to do it right. KoTC2 late game fights are one example. I loved that game.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Kingmaker, 100%. Captures more of the adventuring vibe I like and didn't go full stupid with the companions. The last chapter is terrible, but that's my only real complaint.

Kingmaker, it's not even close. I liked that game so much I bought it multiple times. I played it almost exclusively on GOG and yet it's still one of my 3 most played games on Steam. After every playthrough I just wanted to replay it immediately with a different party.

On the other hand, WotR just drained me of all my energies. Everything felt so exaggerated and excessive. Due to how much I loved Kingmaker, I planned to try each mythic path at least once, but after a year I've still played the game only once. I don't really know how to put my thoughts into words, it's just that the game feels... too much. Mythic abilities and spells are so busted that, by the end, either your entire party is immune to everything or you delete entire screens of enemies with a single click. It almost stops feeling like an isometric RPG. I'll probably give it another chance in the future, but I'm still fed up with it.

As a final note of blame, the crusade minigame is just inexcusable. Unforgivable trash.

The last chapter is terrible, but that's my only real complaint.
Same.

But if this is true for Kingmaker, it's 100 times more true for WotR. Between Iz and The Enigma, the last chapter is such a slog that I think it's impossible to go through it without switching off your brain.

Kingmaker is great but I do like the Epic scale of Wraths decisions, wrath seems a lot more stylish.

In the end they are close.

Played twice. As an lich dhampir necromancer who din't become a lich and killed the former master and as an azata cryomancer(cold elemental specialist). Din't purchased any DLC and have no desire to re play it...

Character building and combat in WotR is far superior to Kingmaker. There are also more in-game choices and consequences due to the Mythic Paths gating content.
Overall, I also enjoyed the trip to Alushinyrra far more than the time spent in the First World.

Kingmaker has more interesting companions, a far better first couple of chapters and far better writing overall, but I dispise everything after Pitax. The stuff I hate in WotR is optional content in Chapter 5 so can be skipped (you don't even need to do it to reach level 20, and although some of the items are good they are not needed to complete the game). The actual end game stuff in WotR is only slightly annoying in comparison to how much I loathe THATEOT and the cursed barony.

So overall, I prefer WotR because the combat is more rewarding, exploring Alushinyrra was fun, and the later stages of the game are less obnoxious.

It's a hard choice to make really, I like them both, but if you're putting a gun to my head it's Kingmaker (up to post-Pitax) - it's more of a coherent story and experience, more like your classic D&D "band of jolly adventurers" type of deal. WOTR is more lumpy, uneven, bitty-feeling, though it has some great moments. I think the writing is also more consistent in Kingmaker, and more uneven quality-wise in WOTR. The Fey too, are more strange, interesting and terrifying than Demons as an enemy, because they're more whimsical and unpredictable, where Demons are just boring in terms of their psychology.

Kingmaker, big time. WotR is so bloated and mindless, it's just tiresome. For me it's a classic example of quantity over quality, designers just throwing everything into the game without really thinking about it, let alone testing it. Numbers are absurds, encounters completly uninspired (the only one I can recall was the tavern fight, but that's about it), crusade management is a disaster and dialogues are way, way too long without ever saying anything interesting. Owlcat doubled down on all worst exceeses of Kingmaker, while leaving most of the good stuff behind. meanwhile Kingmaker has superior encounters, some actual narrative and thematic consistency (not great mind you, but good enough), Vordakai Tomb, better resting system, list goes on. And no Kitsune. Plus, the monster-of-the-week structure worked very well, alowing them to have a lot of variety within the game. Meanwhile, WotR gets monotonous with them demons around every corner. I cannot stand the word 'Babau' anymore, it's imprinted in my brain after seeing it for the millionth time again and again.
But I also simply prefer simpler, more lighthearted atmosphere of Kingmaker, for me it feels more adventurous. So it may be a matter of taste more than anything.

In its current state definitely Kingmaker, tough it did improve a lot with the enhanced edition.
Kingmaker was a delight because it felt like an old-school campaign; just you and the boys and gals going on a jolly adventure dealing with local problems. When there are so many other RPGs that are about chosen ones saving the multiverse like WOTR. That game is a fascinating mess, they achieved their goal of creating the ultimate combatfag RPG for autists. Yet so much else they promised just isn't in the game: The class, background or race reactivity is still worse than most other RPGs, the crusade minigame has almost nothing in common with HOMM3, the lack of polish. Worst of all the Mythic Paths don't have nearly as big of an impact as they promised.

Kingmaker has many flaws but at least they feel honest. Wrath repeats the same mistakes and compounds on them, making it clear that Owlcat aren't just inexperienced but actively retarded and unwilling to learn.

I like Kingmaker more than Wrath. Nowadays though I've outgrown it and play other games; which I think are better than Kingmaker. I still think it's a solid game though. Wrath on the other hand is a more recent title and suffers from so many issues. Why play Wrath when there's so many better games out there.

Pathfinder: Wrath
Outside of build variety due to Mythic and general better encounters (at least up to Chapter 3), Kingmaker 100%

Wrath has so much non-technical/bugs issue in its design. Worse writing. Worse characters. Worse pacing. Worse side activity (Kingdom vs Crusade). Worse enemy variety (Chapter 4 and 5 is just a fucking slog of the same shit over and over) (tbf this is less Owlcat but more of the AP in on itself). Worse plot in general. Worse villain.

Wrath is just tiresome to play whereas Kingmaker, I am excited for 4th playthrough even. Unfortunately there really isnt much game like this. KotC 2 is one but it is tiresome in another way entirely (balanced for ultra combat fags which means playthrough feel repetitive as you have to optimize + initiatives RNG is real).

I always get a kick whenever I remember they rose over 2 million dollars and this is what they gave us. Ah well.

Yeah, unfortunate really. Clearly the scope is an issue too as Chapter 4 and 5 is just a fucking massive slog. Crusader mode make it even worse resulting in already awful pacing move to massive grinding halt.

The Mythic ended up being very small in scale and narrative impact too. I could tolerate the issue if the Mythic path feels really different but as currently is, not so much.

The setting of Wrath is more interesting.

I like also the fact that you can switch to TB during gameplay for the more complex battles.

Which are the chances of the Rise of the Ironlords? IS one of the most popular P&P AP's.

And having 2 SCI FI projects(Wokehammer + Iron Gods) would be too much and risky.

I prefer the premise of kingmaker which is enough for it to rank above wrath. In truth while I was initially excited for the mythic system the inability to make mythic path really gel with my chosen classes threw a spanner in the works.

I am still impressed by owlcat though because they seem to be the polar opposite of the other older rpg devs. Willing to bite more than they can chew and put out the roughest of gems, rather than playing it safe and frustrating me with almost greatness. So i can't say my preference is an indictment of wrath.

Plus they are both very Progressive. Which is based.

That's your bar for success? If they're better than some has-beens? They got outdone by Chalice 2 which was made by a lone dev on a far smaller budget than the 2 mil infusion Owlcat got.

Well, Kingmaker overall for the feeling of adventure and ruling your own land.

But its pretty close for me. And Wrath has mounts! That's a big plus! Awesome functionality!

If there's one feature that I'd really like to see backported to Kingmaker, it'd be mounts. And dinosaurs.

Don't know how you can call yourself a king when you aren't riding a triceratops around your kingdom.
