Silly question about Pengers. When I'm wiping out bandits for skill gain and profit(They're my main source of income), I've noticed that if I take too long picking the goodies up they drop, I get attacked by Pengers.

Amusing side note on Pengers:

Is this just coincidence, or are Pengers scavengers that show up to eat dead bandit carcass?

Damn, I wish it wasn't just coincidence, but I'm afraid it is. :cry:

Is it taking too long to pick up loot? One suggestion given in the past is an auto-loot function, i.e. after combat ends give the player a "Pick up all the loot?" option. Would that make any sort of difference?

Rats, I thought it was a cool feature that death and combat attracted scavengers. :D

You could just up the time it takes for things to show up after combat by a few seconds. I do think it's a novel idea, so long as they don't show up during combat.

I find that in most games I rarely use any "Take All" type commands, because you usually end up with a whole bunch of stuff you don't want/need.

On the subject of animal scavenging behaviour, is it something you guys would consider? It's definitely one of the little things that add a lot to the flavour of the world, and could also be further expanded upon as a means of hunting/trapping by using bait. Buy meat at the butcher, leave it around somewhere and have some scavengers flock to it. Bigger meat such as dead bandits could attract larger scavengers.

I dig the idea of having big scavenger birds flock by the corpses after the corpses start to rot. Some of them would probably attack you to defend their 'keep' while others might just fly away.

I love the idea of scavengers coming for dead bodies or meat. I like the idea of more linked or sequential randoms or encounters, i.e. first you fight the bandits, then pennigers appear, or maybe first you fight some lupins then angry lupin hunters appear, etc.. A generalized scavenging system is probably beyond the scope of adding (but not beyond the scope of the sequel :) ) but it could be simulated fairly easily with sequential events.

Any other thoughts on sequential type events would be great.
