Good for Sawyer
If there's one thing the industry lacks is AA passion projects - even ones I don't particularly like
As imo you can't really have innovation with just massive AAA productions and indie niche projects - it's the middle term of the two that generally drives things foward

Shouldn't you move this to Adventure Gaming then?

Having no combat in the game deflates a lot of the tension. This was the case in Disco Elysium. Except Disco Elysium had a protagonist who could die from sitting in a chair. Disco Elysium also had extremely entertaining writing and an original idea with the personality traits.

Judging from Outer Worlds writing, I think Pentiment could be okay/fun for 10-20 hours.

I didn't really have a clear image of how Hannah Kennedy looked, but I will admit, I didn't expect that much of a "time traveller from the 80's" vibe...

Also interesting that the game will have texts in different languages (one of the manuscripts in that video is clearly in french), that's probably when the main character's linguistic skills could play a role.

From Obsidian, this game is a historical mystery role-playing game

Looks like Josh is counter-signaling his employer's marketing again!

Literally any game with even the slighest bit of character development is called an RPG nowadays
C'mon Infi, I know DE messed up things around here, but this one really belongs on the Adventure Gaming subforum, specially when even the creator said so

Edit:
it seems quotes, whithin quotes are no longer possible

Looks like working on Pentiment has matured her, she used to look more obnoxious https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBeI33HVUAEfm1l.jpg:orig

Once the game releases, we should start pestering Avellone on twitter regarding the rapey vibes of Pentiment.
I get the impression he dislikes Sawyer's writing regardless of how much rape is in it.
He's not gay? No way.
Unless that's a tranny. Would make a lot of sense.
100% straight.

Really weird thing going on here with the art where the 'objects' like the tapestry / frescoes on the wall are very nicely done, but the normal exploration art is disappointingly pedestrian and sometimes even MS-Painty. Still, any vaguely historical game gets my interest, even if it looks very clearly like it's a short, light-mechanics game rather than something really meaty.

Looking forward to 690 pages of Codex "is there women in this game", "what hair colour does the developer have", and "lol disco elysium"

You know, this forum may consider Sawyer a filthy SJW socialist, but I think he's secretly based: there are no niggers nor trannies in 16th century Europe, and since he said he wants to be historically accurate...
