They decided to completely disable the intro ship battle, LOL. Now the game just goes into the beach wreck after a few seconds.

I'm pretty sure you just got killed, yo. It does that if it happens.

LoL this games is soooo dead,in a year time it will be like numanuma with 50 dudes playing it. I was curious if the dlc will sell a few copies but it seems that it is dead. I was expecting at least 5000 peak.

Here is the steam chart and it is pretty dire, for comparison the game had around 1700-1800 people 24 hours peak. It seems that the dlc is selling pretty poorly.

I personally is waiting for all the DLCs and patches to come out before a replay. Could be that others are waiting too.
That is true, but most people don't like to wait long time and frequently forget about this things. It would have been better if it was a whole expansion big as all three DLC sold half a year later. Most people will just say "i will pick it up when is the whole game" and then forget about it. Maybe remember it a year or two later when they see it on sale.

PS:I am not talking about codexers, clearly will not forget about this shit. But still we could loose desire to play it in half a year.

game drops on console dec 31st. i wonder how they're gonna make it run on the switch performance-wise since the game is so badly optimized.

So I started playing:
a) 2nd guy i talk to tries to guilt trap me by accusing me of leaving Gilded Vale in anarchy and tragedy for killing Raedric or whatever his name was, as if the alternative was any better. Can't even call him out on his bullshit.
b) In the middle of the scene where the dragon swoops down and is killing people left and right, Concelhaut's skull is doing his voice acted barks. "Oh, he comes! Please kill me!!!!" "WHY ARE YOU CARRYING SO MANY EGGS??? SURELY THEY WILL SPOIL!". Really helped immersion.
c) AI is fucking retarded and always opens up with Meteor Shower on 4 allied units and 2 enemies. Had to disable it.

Overall, it's whatever. More of the same. Not even sure I'm going to complete it. Not feeling it.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Pathfinder: Wrath
Poor game's getting a lot of shit for no good reason. I guess the current player counts are really the "fair value" of a strictly single-player isometric RTwP RPG.

By most conventional measures of faggotry it's an improvement over the first game. Storyfags are the only group I could imagine taking umbrage at this claim, but PoE I wasn't much of a bar to begin with anyway.

Playing this on consoles will be a nightmare. Are there any impressions of how comfortable people played 1 on consoles?

I asked that before and no one answered. From searching footage on youtube it appears the game uses a Radial Menu for controlling most things, but since the footage doesn't show the actual usage of the physical controller it's hard to say how it controls. I assume the radial menu is divided into sections, with each section mapped to a face button, and once you're inside a section you would utilize the d-pad to cycle the options.

As for abilities just make the triggers switch focus to the different hotbars and use dpad plus confirmation button to select, easy-peasy. Use more triggers/etc to cycle between targets.

but that's just guessing. as for movement, I assume they're doing it like Wasteland which basically just makes the left thumbstick act the same as if you were using hold-down-LMB-for-automatic-movement, essentially giving you direct control over the lead character.

But like i said, i'm just guessing as this is how I would do it. I'm rather curious tbh.

Switch has touchscreen though.

Yeah, even Fensty stuck around for White March and even MacLean stuck around for Bastard's Wound. Pretty odd to see the two narrative leads straight up leave. +M

This place was rooting for it to fail from the start. Now that it's actually a good game, people here are too scared to give it any real praise.

It's on -25% sale three months after release, that should tell you everything you need to know about reception.
It did very well with the people who bought it.

Have to be careful trying to attract casuals. The last deep discount Pillars 1 received got it a lot of negative Steam reviews.

But wait, are we talking about casual reception or Codex reception or other half of Codex reception or small group of people I agree with on codex reception or actual sales or mythical once its 4.0 after a year sales/reception or reviewer reception or my personal reception (which is all I care about and project onto everyone else) or what? We gotta define our terms here.

My experience...

Hardcore PoE1 fans: Mostly negative. Don't think the writing is grimdark enough. No broken bosses like Llengrath and the Adra Dragon to cheese. No 15 level dungeon to slog through.

Ambivalent PoE1 fans: Mostly positive. Generally see the game as a massive improvement over its predecessor.

Casuals: Overwhelmingly positive. The ones I talked to really like the voiceacting, graphics, writing, and even the combat (the lower difficulties and AI scripting make it more accessible).

If I had to compare it with other Obsidian games.

- Best gameplay and exploration by far.
- Quest design is on par with New Vegas.
- Writing is good, but inferior to New Vegas and Mask of the Betrayer.
- Reactivity is on par with New Vegas and Tyranny, but not as obvious or meaningful.
- Ending is only slightly better than KOTOR II.

Overall it's my second favorite Obsidian game. New Vegas is still my favorite because it had a better main quest and faction conflict.
