it's a known spell ai script bug (the spell doesn't remove ai threat as it's supposed to).

 

Dude what mods did you install on that game? Give links. Did you play with no mages? No consumables? What's the trick behind making the combat hard?

The ONLY encounter I remember are the revenants, who were HP bloated and had an instagib pull which I had to LoS so the terrain blocks it, but that's with several difficulty mods.

So will #71 Wizards & Warriors provide me with a better experience than Deadfire did?

We all know about those lists yet we played Deadfire, show off your superior taste and drop some names, that's why I asked.
I read the book when it came out and from the stuff I hadn't played nothing really jumped at me.

 

DA:O has a few decent quests, the origin distinction is unique and I liked the part at mage tower both as origin and later overtake by demons. it's worthwhile playing for those but on the whole it's painfully mediocre and systems wise it's dysfunctional.

DA:O had cool points with the Origins and how they tie as C&C to the later game (baby AoD) and has some really great branching quests, but praising the combat as something superb?

It was fun enough to play through the game and stack loot, but it's MMO-tier gameplay, might as well fire up WoW if you want that in a cRPG.

 

Speaking of the Príncipi sen Patrena, is anyone willing to "gift"/"lend" me a copy of his PoE guidebook? Its price is nearly half of what the game costs ffs.

 

Then it goes with what FreeKaner was saying earlier about the game being dysfunctional. I also remember that fighting large groups of enemies indoors amounted to casting some aoe damage over time spell on the ground and closing the door to whatever room they were in, resulting in them all getting stuck and dying without any additional input from me. It's like whatever shit you tried to pull the AI would trip over it and fall on its ass. I never encountered retardation of this magnitude in PoE.

I think that neither DA:O nor PoE have good combat, but if PoE's combat on PotD is like taking candy from a small child, DA's combat on nightmare is like taking candy from a stillborn.

 

So many damn broken quests...
Plus, I don't see it mentioned often, and maybe it's only me and my rig, but the framerate is complete shit during fights. A lot of animations (especially summon, summoned weapons etc) make my screen freeze for around a second.
Also, the game is unresponsive now and then. With clicks not getting registered and shit.

On the bright side, I just had a very cool encounter including high level vampires. Some particular priest spell proved exquisitely useful.

 

Nah i prefer enjoying good games,like dragon age origins. It is amusing how people like praise the poe2,a half finished game while hating the game that brought back the RPG genre to the market. DAO may not be the greatest rpg but it is a lot more old school than this dumbed down pile of idiotic shit. But i take it that DAO is far too complex for PoE fans,you have to more than just hit space to win a battle.

Playing on hard,and not using any consumables. I never use potions in games! I never said that the game is hard,i said that it is harder than PoE 2. Also DAO is better game in every single aspect!

On your other question. Yes,i had more fun playing the bug fest that is "Wizards & Warriors" than poe2.

Sooo,you cast a spell,i haven't done that in 90% of PoE2 battles. As i said far more challenging that PoE2.

how the fuck can there be a rogue/paladin? what the fuck is a rogue/paladin?
did a rogue one day decide to get some shiny heavy armor, crapping all over his dexterity and movement skill?
did he see some kind of weird light in the sky and decided there is a god in a world in which there really aren't any gods?
or was he a paladin first? realizing there are no gods, he decided to abandon all those rules and rituals and the holy war he was waging against the enemies of his god to become a low life. a petty thief. the heavy use of heavy weapons and armor and shields must have made him as dexterous as a master pick pocket and lock picker.
or was he both from the beginning because he had a very laid back teacher? "yes, yes, though shalt not steal but as a paladin you're not stealing for yourself but for your god, so it's alright. let me teach you a few techniques."

 

The fuck. DAO is not finished or functional. It has no complexity in it, neither in its character building or combat, on top of that half of it's abilities and passives do not work. You need several mods, unofficial patches and personal tuning to get the game to actually work as it's supposed to work, and when it actually does work as how it's supposed to work then it's tank&spank whole game with several abilities that just one shot entire encounters. I don't know how old you but DA:O is the definition of a dumbed down dysfunctional incomplete game. Use your fucking brain.

Let me help you in fact, I am 1/4 Bulgarian on my father's side, maybe the nationalist barriers in your mind can soften a bit to understand a simple fact then;

DA:O. DOES. NOT. WORK.

When DA:O DOES WORK after 5 mods, you STILL have to rebalance the game either via mods or edits yourself just to NOT one-shot everything. After that you STILL haven't fixed enemy AI so all encounters are tank&spank. IT ALSO HAS NO ENCOUNTER DESIGN.

I take it that you are playing for quite a few hours without a stop. It was same for me after a few hours of gameplay,try restarting the game and/or the pc.
Are you talking about the vampires in front of the crypt on the undead island? That battle was the hardest in the game because they constantly charmed my rogue and he had very high dps,killing my party members with few hits. It was a surprised challenge,maybe they miss it when scaling down the difficulty.
