I thin I've said this before, but only the most hardcore gamers play on PotD Trial of Iron. Everyone else might as well be playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure. I'm sorry, but that's just my ethos.

Anyway, Path of the Damned is fun but much easier than Pillars 1, so far. I'm only 7th level. No upward level scaling. My crusader wasn't much use as a devoted great sword wielder. Too squishy, not enough damage. But as an unbroken/shieldbearer tank, he's a brick wall. And that's with 15 Might too.

Hard difficulty also seem to be very easy (with upscaling) :/

Edit:

fantadomat Quicksave junkie? ;)
:negative: I am quicksaving to not wait for the stealth circle to re-empty. Some time the stealth fucks up and fills you circle,it hapens when you to close to the mark,a good way to avoid it is to click close to the target, pause and click on him.

So Eothas was predictably the good guy all along.

Why even side with the other gods? They all look like ass and behave as such. At least the evil ending in regular RPGs makes you feel like a glorious bastard.

How long have you been operating like this? Sad to say, your high-integrity play style cannot withstand the inexorable rise of degenerate gameplay.

I don't remember ever not playing this way. Most likely I played my first RPG like this and it eventually became a habit. I automatically skip every post in this thread that has people trading strategy information without even thinking about it. And it has nothing to do with integrity, trust me. Nobody in my area had internet when I started gaming, so research meant waiting 2 months for a game walkthrough to come out in a magazine.

Fuck me.
Okay, what I thought to be a bug is actually normal. Expert mode hides companions reputations completely... but only for you and not between each other.
I should rtfm.

One thing that I still don't understand is what's the point of dual-wielding melee + ranged. There is no syngergy like there is with dual-wielding melee, rather you simply gain the convenience of the character using the ranged weapon automatically when far, and the melee weapon automatically when near.

You lose the positive qualities of single-wielding (ACC) and the ones of dual-wielding (Speed/DPS), while gaining nothing other than automated convenience. You could simply single-wield melee in Set 1, and single-wield Ranged in Set 2, and press the Weapon Switch hotkey on your keyboard when appropriate.

(Yes, I know switching in combat incurs a Recovery penalty but it's negligible.)

EDIT: Apparently there is 1 (one) unique pistol that has an Enchantment for melee + ranged combo:
There is a unique pistol called „Scordeo‘s Trophy“ each time you shoot it in reduces recovery time of melee attacks by 15% for 30 seconds (more with higher int).
And the bonus stacks !

If the Enchantment "sticks" after switching Weapon Sets then there's still no benefit to the combo.

(from the PoE reddit)

Known console commands:
OpMDbBsffGJjNeSwttTLDcwLizbMhG4hH2CuGWM5X7Y.jpg

Kind of obvious but just in case: you type the stuff that begins after 'void', and leave out () as those are values/parameters, unless required by the command. Glancing through these I see one for "Difficulty"... haven't tried it though.

Standard Edition 45,99€
For season pass it's 24,99€

~70 Euros for the whole thing, or get Obsidian Edition for similar amount and a little bit of extra trash thrown in.

I remember when people complained about AAA titles costing 50-60 Euros or whatever. And converting that back to Mark, ugh.

And for that not even well-tuned combat, decent QC, and there'll probably be a million mechanics changes and nerfs just like for PoE 1?

You're not making this easy, Josh Feargus.

Damn. Eothas' VO is as good as the narrator is bad. I hope Obsidian has a good Chief Diversity Officer, or heads will roll on this one.

Why would you buy a season pass when we don't know anything about what they have planned for DLCs.
I haven't bought anything yet, probably going to wait for a sale and patches, if I get it at all.

Just saying that it's no less than obscene AAA pricing at this point... EA would be proud. This thing should be on Origin hahaha

Please, someone that played the more challenging modes, are the game difficulties still the same?

I mean...

Normal: Dungeon Siege mode
Hard: Diablo mode
PotD: Diablo hardcore fan patch mode

Yes, because we needed another performance like Irenicus' with an esophagus covered in phlegm. Eothas is good. Give it a couple of shots. Anyway, I'm trying to get through the conversations with the gods, but the Xoti's voice actor is so out of place. Man oh man.

This may come as extremely surprising to you, but David Warner can do more than 1 voice.
This one may even blow your mind: he didn't necessarily have to voice Eothas.

I'm not surprised at all. I implied we don't need to go back to the same old well for voice actors. The old ones have their flaws, too. Sending off David Warner with a Pillars role would be overly sentimental. But yes, he could have voiced the narrator, and I believe he would have done an excellent job.

I even like Xoti's voice over. I just don't think she does well as a narrator. But that gets back to my remark about diversity. Am I only upset by this narrator because she's voiced by a woman? Or am I upset because her voice doesn't have enough neutrality and gravitas? Are those vague descriptions inherently masculine?

I don't even mind the narrator voice. Although I dislike that they replaced the classic male narrator line for "You must gather your party before venturing forth." with a female voice. I also like Xoti's acting, although the accent keeps reminding me of Abigail from Red Dead Redemption and I just can't take Xoti seriously because of that. I keep expecting her to call me John Marston at any second.

I was under the assumption that everything scales with level but don’t know for certain. - Anyway wizards have a ton of really good self-buffs. Dunno if the barb/wiz is the best class but it’s surely a good one.
