Hello,

Trying my luck here but hopping the right people get to see this which might start the ball rolling.

Pillars Of Eternity has recently had a new patch applied that has broken the excellent IEmod. I’m not entirely sure of the people involved but I understand this forum is the right place to ask. So If this request could find its way to the right people. With luck someone with the right skills could get the Iemod working once more.

Many Thx

I can do it for $300

Hello Bester.

If I'm not mistaken you are the creator of IEmod (at least that what Nexus Mods says.) If so I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for what was in many ways an essential mod for the Pillars Of Eternity game. Thank you.

As for your reply I cant tell if your serious, joking or trying to insult.

Either way I would again ask you consider an update or if not make it available so someone else could keep the mod alive. Many thx

Chase thoughts of insult. I merely suggested hands can be moved to purpose should a fortunate patron provide a much needed motivation. Absent such, they remain firmly in pants (scratching ass and balls).

I see. Well I'm not able to provide the incentive you seek. But thanks for talking with me.

Careful, you're starting to act a little Jewish there.

I understand and your stance is reasonable, good work should be rewarded, even more so if its continually maintained and updated.

I asked if IEmod could be updated, and the answer was yes for a price. and that's fair.

But its far beyond what I'm able and willing to spend, and so that's the end of that.

Disappointing but fair.

Many Thx.

Given Bester wants the $300 to —as per his post— get fisted, perhaps you could reach an arrangement and fist him outright while he updates the mod. Cut the middle man, everyone gets what they want.

I was wanting to make a comment on POE and noticed this thread in search. There's actually a UMM version of IE Mod now, IE Mod Rewrite. It has a fair amount of what IE mod had - not yet everything, but the author's working on it and seems fairly acfive, and says he's wiling to consider requests.

There's also a post a bit down in the chat tab for the mod where a poster shows some screenshots of Patchwork and a few of the classic Patchwork mods still working with the latest Patchwork proper (not the one that came with IE Mod, the standalone one) in combination with IE Mod Rewrite.

*************

Anyway the thing I was wanting to say was that just firing up the game having not played it for ages, I had a whiff of nostalgia of what it was like firing up POE for the first time - the excitement and anticipation at a new "proper" top-down game. It didn't take long for the scales to fall from my eyes (somewhere between the Temple of Eothas and Anslog's Compass), but that initial feeling was amazing, and I just noticed now that music was a big part of that feeling. The theme tune and incidental music for POE really are superlative and you can tell the composer (Justin Bell) put their heart and soul into it. It's also beautifully recorded, with a room sound I've never heard anywhere else, sort of a small hall or chamber, that sounds very apt for the music and the chamberish size of the ensemble (I mean hell, it might be all digital in which case kudos to Bell for makiing it sound so realistic, but whatever, it's just really good).

Eventually the DLCs somewhat mollified my opinion of the game, and I really actually like POE2 a lot (mainly because I love playing around with the extensive AI conditionals, and/or alternatively playing in turn-based, which is so well implemented from an ease-of-use perspective, plus the visuals are stunning). But that initial excitement re. POE, with its soaring music, and then the disappointment setting in were memorable :)
