I think the thing is you're supposed to put pictures in a Let's Play. I created an account on imgur, and I have the pics backed up somewhere. I ran DosBOX and took screen captures as I went.

I should add, thieves can use short bows without hacking.

Pool of Radiance scales encounters to party size, so smaller parties are much more viable. Case in point:

Computers were much more limited in this era; writing a whole series of events where you turn the goblins against the Boss would probably have consumed numerous extra disks and made the game much more expensive. Roberta Williams (the King's Quest lady) tried to make a time-travel game in 1981 on the Apple II, with over 1300 locations, each with a picture. It wound up taking six floppy disks, cost $99 ($270 today after inflation) and becoming a total flop.

Also, I wouldn't put too much modern morality into what's basically a combat engine. You have a few chances to avoid major bloodshed later in the game.
