I have been following Allegro (Polish internet auction site) for deals including boxed version of older games (mostly RPGs) and thought that maybe other people would be interested in those too, as some people here love their old-school big cardboard boxes.

Most of the sellers do not agree to ship outside Poland, but some do.

As for the prices:
E1 ~= 4.3 PLN
$1 ~= 3.33 PLN

Here are a few current (2nd of December 2014) deals:

NONE OF THESE ARE MINE (in case someone wanted to know).

1. Fallout (this is not the original printing, but a reprint of that with Polish version of the game)

Current price: 127,50 PLN and growing

Damn those are some steep prices. I've bought FO1, FO2 and Tactics for 30 PLN some time ago. I understand that it is in a glorious cardboard, but 150? :retarded:

"Nie zgadzam się na wysłanie przedmiotu za granicę" = "I do not agree to ship the item abroad"
"Zgadzam siÄ™" = I agree

From what I see only 3 out of 9 sellers above agree to send the item abroad (Drakensang not being one of them). But I doubt any non-Polish person would want a game with Polish localization. Heck, I don't want a game with Polish localization...

Edit:
To see that information click on the "Dostawa i płatność" tab.

That Drakensang CE seems cool... Thinking of it. Will they post to EU, or just Potato?
As Goral has already said, this seller does not agree to ship abroad.
You could try arrange a deal with some potato codexer to buy it for you, and re-send after it arrives, if you really want a Polish release (mind you, everything except voice acting is in Polish). Of course, it would add some more cost (no idea about shipping rates from Poland to the rest of EU).

Just like what happens with music fans, having that weird edition from an "uncommon" country can boost your collector ego.

Planescape Torment

Citizen Kabuto

Altough these are not carboard boxed, you can probably multiply the price x 4 or x 5 for your copies. I'd do that.

This means they are priceless. Well, not really, but you can reasonably expect them to sell for 200+ PLN.

I don't understand... how do you redeem the game for the online key to actually activate the game? And why do the games come with so many video DVDs, is it some kind of 'making of the game' documentary?

Heh the juggling of those CD's still haunts me to this day. Polish edition of BG was really awesome and voice acting fucking rocked.
Yup, been playing BGT in english lately and the voice acting is not quite the same. Especially Jan Jansen, Korgan and of course Irenicus (whose English VO is loved for some reason - it's bogus compared to the Polish one).

That's the thing.

I checked ebay.com, it's between 9-29$, not sure about the bigger price. But whatever.
200PLN...hm, that's enough for new chair or Nintendo DS. I already have 3 version of P:T so no biggie.

Keep them for now. In a couple of years, when games will be digital-editions only, they'll be worth even more. Altough I'd never sell such beauties. I still have the original Dark Forces CD-ROM on my shelf and it will never leave it.

I prefer digital versions nowadays, because I've lost a lot of game CDs and DVDs in the past. But some people like to get handsy with their possessions and if you have the money, why not? ;)
