So i bought SR2 on gog back when it was on sale, and i've played it for quite a while.
It's pretty fucking addictive, and i would have mever heard of it if it wasn't because of this prestigious magazine.

Now, here's something that has started to annnoy me, though:
I can't get any quests anymore, and i'm not talking about the special missions (be they text or rts). It's the ordinary kill this ship/escort ship/fedex quests that i simply can't get anymore. I've even trying waiting for weeks but no dice. Once in a blue moon i will get a quest after having traversed the galaxy for hours, but it's collapsing my economy because of ship repairs.

Do missions become rarer over time or have i done something wrong?

A theory i have i that i have chosen the "don't wanna do this type of mission" option when asked about the rts missions (fucking hate those pointless time killers), and maybe that somehow has an effect?

Nope, you haven't done anything wrong. Space Rangers 2 just takes a shitload of time to actually get anywhere due to the random nature of the missions and blah-di-blah.

Enjoy your grind!

Actually i have been playing a while, and at the start it was no problem getting quests, now it has slowed to an extrreme standstill noticably different from when i first began.

Make sure you check different races' colonies. If one terran planet doesn't have quests, none of the other terran planets will either. From what I remember.

Playing on normal and have liberated 4 systems. It's the gog version which i think is the original, not the reboot version.

Thanks for the heads-up on that revolution thing, ill check it out at some point.

ask the people on sdk-forum if their version is compatible with gog-s. and change immediatly. the origial is great but there is no point playig it having reboot or revolution available

Interesting I though SR2: Revolution English translation project was dead and kept playing Reboot. Btw whats the biggest changes between Reboot and Revolution?

I would be careful about Normal Difficulty. I'm not sure if my universe was particularly lucky, but on Normal, the coalition always crushed the dominators. Or at the very least, they always managed to even out the battles in such a way that there was no particular joy in them. Liberating a system solo is what I really love to do.

Yeah, there's some truth in that. I don't like doing wholesale switches to difficulty, but tweaking the levels by making the dominators stronger and maybe making science research slower makes it more fun in the long run. God, now I have to play again.

I think you fucked up that quote. But it might as well be true. I really do need to try it again. This time I'll rely solely on Maloq made equipment.

I like it when the coalition forces are less reliant on me to turn the tide, but yeah, I kinda dig it when I successfully saved a science station or being part of a military base warp in.

Shit like these....epic. imo. I still wish there's a steady military career where you'll be based on one station , Wing commander style and earn weekly pay while getting free repairs and ammo reloads.
