Finished it (Fuck Cafe and her wandering whore troupe). Got the "Went on a New Adventure" ending with seems to be the best/happiest ending (Miki + 5K unit Merc +Patton +Cordoba did the trick at the end).
I will avoid Demon King ending, not letting Sill die (even if she is useless in this game).

Is it even possible to impregnate Lia?

Liked the translation so far (except for the naming decisions).

I guess now I can get into reviewing SR.

 

I got lucky on Cafe this playthrough and she was easy to find for me. Fuck her when I was playing the JP version of the game though.

I thought Deuce was the one who wanted to review SR.

Is it possible to turn off music in Kichikou? Sound menu does absolutelty nothing.

 

Because the game was patched to use mp3s I assume. The original game used CD DA music and the sound menu worked.

I dunno, try replacing the mp3 files with silence or something

 

There is anti-sexual appearance action in the Tokyo. So it's probably quite unhealthy to do anything erotic, and stay in Tokyo.

 

SThere are so many references to previous parts in Keichikou. Dunno if I should stop playing KR and go play them first. Are they particularly grindy?

 

They are quite easy, not really grinding required. You could also just check my LPs. Specially with the first that can be a bit infuriating at times...

 

Yeah, I gave up on the first one - just too obtuse for me. It's funny, I don't have a problem playing Gold Box games but Rance 1... nah, life is too short

Probably because I got used to the GUI of GB back when I was a kid already.

 

Is it worth it to expand the number of troops in a unit? It is almost prohibitively expensive to do so for only 25 extra troops.

 

Depends on who you're expanding IMO.

Expanding the number of troops on say... Maria is well worth it. on my last run by endgame Maria has 1000+ troops and when generally one-shots anything with 5-700 troops, commander included.

Other good troop/low count people are worth it too. Patton for dungeons. Gauin/Hubert/Leylukov for battles...

 

Late in the game, money mostly stops being an issue.

You should probably prepare 3 strong high troop count for the final stretch of the game, so plan to pump 3 people for that purpose.

 

For the end stretch?

I find that Miki for 1st, Cecil (with 5000 troops) for 2nd, and 2 teams of 4 (I use Patton + Cafe + 2 rangers to whittle down the enemy troops and thus its attack for 3rd, and Cordoba + Barres + 2 rangers for 4th. All the front liners have 1000 troops each, 1200s for some.) work well.

Damn, I didn't even realize that and I beat the game thrice.

Not that it matters to me, I did it with 3 single characters anyway.

Incidentally, Cafe is really good for this, if you aren't already pissed off at her for being a huge asshole before she's cured. If I ever play the game another time I think I'll try to get her early enough to fight in the Zeth campaign.

 

It's doable with a single character yes, but it's much safer with four, since that way the Kaijuu usually splits its attack between the two frontliners, and the backliners help reduce its troops, which lower its attacks.

And Yes. Cafe has some seriously GOOD troops. Add the fact that they auto-replenish and I find that I use her EVERY SINGLE turn after I got her and saw what she can do.

The battle against the Kaijuus also count as Dungeon, which makes Patton ridiculously powerful due to his massive boosts for dungeons.

 

Yeah, I'm kind of confused why people are trying to do it with like Corboda and Rick. Those guys have massive dungeon penalties.
