The Bard's Tale, anyone try this one?
It's not a bad game. Not amazing but it's surprisingly funny if you give it some time

That first fucking RAT! Yeesh!
I guess nobody sings tavern songs like that in the local USA bars.
Another game already on the List of RPGs thread![]()
I played (and finished) Venetica. It's okay. A bit Gothic-like in a sense you have a fixed protagonist, but can choose her class/faction, that later grants her better armors and access to trainers and unique skills. Starts in the wilderness but most of the game happens in alternative, magical version of Venice.Another game already on the List of RPGs thread![]()
Oh shut up, faggot. I haven't met a soul who has played that game. That list included "Overlord", which was literally shown off at E3 and bundled with Xbox 360s in some regions.
Here's one I discovered last month, still waiting for a sale:

This isn't widely known, but it's not so obscure it belongs in this thread.
This isn't merely about obscure games. It's about really obscure games.
Back when Venetica was new I played it and wrote a Codex review: https://rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=196
By that virtue alone it can't be considered really obscure by Codex standards.
Really obscure games are old European shovelware titles that were never translated to English, Macintosh exclusive RPGs that were never ported to Windows, old and forgotten indies that were only ever released on the dev's own website and never released on a platform like Steam or GOG, etc. When it comes to games released on Steam, stuff that has less than 100 reviews and never received any attention in any RPG hobbyist forum (like the Codex) and/or was never covered by a gaming youtuber (even a lot of lesser known games have videos on youtube) qualifies as really obscure. Stuff you actively have to search for to even know it exists.
it has "binding of issac" and """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""FTL: faggier than pride""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" so it's not a true roguelike threadThe roguelike thread is over there: https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/the-codex-of-roguelikes.71097/
rotate an apple in your head while solving a rubix cubeAll proc gen games feel the same anyway.
i too appreciate the hand-crafted copypasted levels filled with identical mooks in the Infinity Engine/Owlcat gamesYes, I have a well-developed enough imagination that I can predict every roguelike's repetitive level design before I even play it. They're always the same, unlike actual hand-made levels created with human creativity.

Wow, where can I buy it?World of ChaosWoah man... have I played that game before? Looks irry familiar...Since we’re in the trash thread, I’m not ashamed to post this crap again.
No matter how disgusting it might be (the translation, that is – in my opinion, the game is less crappy than it seems), little by little it’s moving forward. Once I get past the phase of the menus, inventory, spell and item names, it should go much more smoothly (when I have time to work on it).

I can read Russian and understand the basics. By the way, I can't make any promises, but I could at least take a look and maybe even try to help with the translation. If you can read hungarian or russian, I can give you some links.

I actually dropped the translation because the file got corrupted (probably one character too many or too few when I added the translation), and honestly, I didn’t feel like starting over again.I can read Russian and understand the basics. Oki then, please do. But if you want to play it, just for the fun of it, I’ll send you the links. From the little I played, it didn’t seem that bad.
Do you know roughly what year it was released?Tried asking AI for help no luck its driving me crazy I'm starting to believe in multiverse theory and I drifted here from a parallel one. Okay this game was a rpg you started in a lighthouse or harbor close to water at night. Main character kind of looked like steven seagal with a trenchcoat you were either a hunter or vampire. You fight vampires in turn based final fantasy style combat. One boss encounter is a chainsaw wielding enemy. Graphics looked similar to gothic they were 3D and no its not vampire masquerade redemption.
