Rising Storm will be created in a first-of-its-kind collaboration between a mod team and a professional game development studio. The Rising Storm team will be made up of the best developers from the Red Orchestra modding community and the mod community at large.

Rising Storm will be a total conversion modification for the eagerly awaited WWII First-person Shooter, Heroes of Stalingrad: Red Orchestra; based on the Pacific campaign of 1941-45.

They said in one of the interviews that if this will be good enough, they bring it in studio, polish it up and release as an expansion. If not, they'll release it just as a mod. Its a win/win anyway.

Sometimes, RO2 news like this manages to raise my hopes for the gaming community.

Didn't notice any Mare Nostrum devs in that list though. Darkest Hour is not my cup of tea, and psycho chicken is one of the leaders of this effort. We shall see what comes.
