Not to go all graphics whore here or anything, but that definitely looks like a huge step down from Witcher 2. Smaller team, smaller budget, larger areas, artists that were never all that good, it's expected.

Also the slow motion finisher cam-switch that happens after every kill is :decline: PB taking inspiration from Bethesda and CD Projekt I see.

Looks good, will buy it on GoG. Eventually.

It's Steamworks so it'll never be on GoG.

Anyhoooo, can anyone give a brief translation if they said anything of note?

Looks quite bad, to be honest.

Clickfest melee, HUGE aiming reticule, inferior camera, poor AI, worthless cumpanions and annoying jerky animations despite the use of motion capture.

That said I'm not writing it off completely. They demonstrated tutorial area and there is a chance that in the proper game things will get better.

Looks kinda shit and I'm a huge fan of Risen. I think a lot of what's "meh" could be cleaned up pretty easily, though.

This.

Gun combat looks terrible, shit inventory that's supposed to be adopted for consoles but ends up sucking on both PC AND console, annoying companion-bullshit where they're either overpowered as fuck or just stand there and divert attention, melee combat (which was good in Risen) looks all jerky and unresponsive, magic being even more bareboned, emo look for the pc...

Warring shitty writing incoming:
video 1:
He talks about the first game for a moment, how you the hero landed on a beach, the second game is assuming as cannon Inquisition , you already meet Patty a where on a search for treasure, it's about the treasure map.
You are now a drunkard, the Titans are still active, Patty tells you that She found her Father, and that the pirates have a weapon against Titans. So you are on the search for the Father.
He's naked whats going on? In Puerto Sacrico, which is a outpost of the Inquisition, so the player hides his uniform and gets a dirty shirt as disguise. The items are in parts. You can sleep in houses.
The Market place of the village is a place to gather lore. the player enters the villa of the Gouverneur, so he doesn't let us in based on our looks. The AI responds to looks an factions.

The animations and skill system is changed, we can buy a map from the Gouverneur.
The map shows only one Island, the world is larger than Risen 1, so along 40 hours for fast players. The frame He is showing, is visited place for fast travel.
apparently, there are boats for traveling and ships.
This is a captured pirate, his clothing is stolen and his bandana, so he gives the player a hint where to find the bandana on a sugar plant plantation at Inquisition guy, so we go to beat him up.
Inquisition is holding plantations and there is a merchants guild, that is only interested in profit. Pirates have Rum, and you need Sugar for Rum. He is trying than to provoke the guy in to combat. The combat mode has parry, then my audio went down a few second before end.
video 2:
Patty is following us, the game can be played without party members, you can replace them and tell them to wait. We worked on them, they respond to the events. The Spider is having shovels on the front feet, so we are keeping Patty busy with the spider
because She has the needed attack.
The monsters have lots of attack modes.
The Spider had a gold head , so now we have the gold head, that we use to open the door.
We had lots of story in the first two chapters of the first game, but the story got thinner. So now we take the player by the hand in the beginning a little and the world is getting bigger and bigger with progression.
The funny question round:
1.About the players ship?
during the story You will acquire a ship.
2. About factions?
there are factions, the game is a pirate game, but the factions are affected by the skill sets of the players.
3 The thieving talent there where there but useless, lacking quests and impact?
We have more of it now, lock picking redone, thieves and pirates are mixed, there are unexpected new things.
4.Didn't get the first part, and are there gnomes.
Yes and Yes.
5 About crew
They are class based.
6. Collectors Edition.
Need to ask to tonight.
7.Magic users He didn't like
There is magic, we will not expand there, still 6 months, magic isn't like in 1.
8.Faction based impact and reactions?Benefits and Negatives.
Story and followers and quest solutions based on factions, lore information's, are affected.
9.How are the weapons loaded?
The weapons load automatic without animations and button pressing
10 Ship driving
No loading times but the change of the islands is based on loading times.
11.Played the demo, the combat there is animation on finishers, camera goes away.
The camera is not final, will change, if the finisher camera can be turned of it's not known.
12. Targeting system.
You choose focus, and you actively change focus and aiming.
13.Do the NPC's react to me as a pirate?
The NPC's have their schedules and conversations, and react to Your doings.
Giving away posters.

Wasn't sure about spoilers, so better safe then sorry.

Risen sucked, the only people who liked it were idiot Yuropeens who are starving for a good RPG so they got all excited about it. At the end of the day, the game was nothing but shitty fetch quests. And LOL @ people calling it open world. HMMM YES HERE ARE THE THREE FACTIONS, ONE OF WHICH YOU MUST JOIN, AND HERE'S WHERE THEY ALL ARE, GO TO ONE OF THESE PLACES NOW. Yeah, a real open world. Seriously this game fucking blew goats, wake up you idiots.

Thanks for that.

You're welcome Mam/Sir.

From a article I cant remember in which language I read it some time ago, look like the magic they avoid questions about is some kind of summoning magic.
You can get parrot training as a perk, not sure if the parrot is summoned or not, so You can launch the parrot in to the enemies, and there is a monkey training skill that allows to send a monkey to get unreachable things, or steal for You.
There are 70 perks, but somehow I feel like a magic build will not be possible.

Also a place to read about:
some spoilers:

Now that is cool. Monkey, steal her panties!
But seriously, this is a cool tidbit if well balanced.

I have no idea wtf they were saying but I REALLY want to play this game.

Looks like a bigger and better looking version of Risen (though I hope they fix that low LOD popups we saw in beginning).

- We will probably be teaming up with NPC's more often and fast travel will be on from the start (probably cause of bitching from console gamers last time).

- The feminist movement paid off lovely Patty was kicking ass along with the hero this time from the start (and is more equipped than the hero). Not that I mind. It's more realistic if NPC's inRPG's start doing some work alongside the goddamn hero for a change.

- More interaction with the environment in the caves this time?

- More combat moves and better mocap this time around. The combat in Skyrim looks better but I am expecting Risen 2 to be more thrilling in the action department.. again.

I do hope they are trying to make the islands more varied like Gothic 3's world was. Risen felt like a step down from G3 but island conquering should trump that game, hopefully. At least they are keeping the basic signature gameplay elements in. Skyrim is trying to copy features from G3 and Risen 2 will improve upon G3 as far as I can tell.

Day-1 purchase for me.

There are many valid accusations which could be thrown at TW2, but shitty graphics? Seriously? How on Earth?

XBox360 I guess

I am just glad Piranha Pytes are doing something a little more original with the sequel.
Risen felt a little bland and as a mage fan, I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully we'll see some cool voodoo magic this time.

I'm a bit annoyed by "no reloading required" guns but we'll see.

Just out of curiosity, is there any difference in plot while playing as a mage during the last chapter?

I finished the game as a warrior first, replayed as a Mage a bit but got bored in the temple (or whatever the place was) during the training.

Don't know myself but a friend of mine said there's basically no difference so you might as well stop playing in Chapter 3 for any replays.
