Risen 1 is the best Risen by a long shot. It's not even close. On the other hand, Risen 2 deserves some love simply because...

Reading through this thread, and it basically boils down to having a sense of humour; if you've got one, you'll enjoy Risen 2 despite it's flaws, if you haven't, you won't.

I'm a gameplay man myself, so totally get and agree with the criticisms of the Risen 2's gameplay, but it's humour just make it an enjoyable experience anyway regardless. And the gameplay, whilst not great, isn't bad enough to get in the way of the laughs.

It's the Dark Souls of funny games; if you ain't enjoying it then you've not got a skill issue but a giggle issue.
