Anyone else playing this? The shooting mechanics are so much better than RO2 + the game incentivizes melee combat.

Will wait for 1€ sale to see if it's better than the base game. Should be easy to achieve, as the base game is a shit diarrhea.

The original RO was great but the sequel didn't do anything for me (buggy at launch, stats borked at launch, stupid unlock system threw out the realistic weapon distribution of the original game, lack of levels with vehicles implemented and lack of vehicle variety). Saying that, I forked out $12 for this in the hope that it might be worthwhile.

Gameplay wise its not any different to RO2, few improvements and that's that. It still has the silly unlock system and the ability to use enemy loadouts when you reach high enough level, japs starting with M1 garand kinda ruins the asymmetrical balance that they were so much going for. Classic mode is where it's at but there is only one server that is filled in peak times.

Just checked the profiles, and you don't unlock (complete) enemy loadouts anymore. Japanese rifleman can only unlock Type 99 and springfield. So no garands for you.

You're right about garands but japs can still get 30cal which is almost equally silly.

Only good thing about that video was the Shogun: Total War battle music, and I played a lot of RO. RO2 just never did anything for me, maybe because I'm older.

I mean seriously, dude takes four bullets and then hacks a guy down?
