Found it this year. Imagine everybody's beloved Cadillacs & Dinosaurs with trashmobs replaced by various palette swaps of bosses... Of course, it's too hard to deal with all this shit with bare hands so now both machinegun and shotgun has unlimited ammo! Okay, it's a mess but it's a FUN mess:

BROs, some QoL stuff and things...

a) Magic Seals Fix

This is a hack of the US version of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. It changes it so that you can complete the magic seal by drawing only the first line. This makes drawing seals much easier.

b) No Required Touch Screen

This patch makes several changes to Dawn of Sorrow so that you can complete the game without needing to use the touch screen for anything.
- Magic seals are completed automatically like in Julius mode.
- Ice blocks can be destroyed with melee weapons if you have Balore’s soul.
- The name signing screen when starting a new game is skipped.
a) FFT Complete

Translation from the PSP re-release (FFT - The War Of The Lions).

b) FFT Prime

Built upon FFT: Complete v.50, which fixes a few bugs and includes 99% of the script and text from the PSP port, The War of the Lions. Some more bugs and unaltered text were fixed by me, so setting aside the other alterations that the patch makes, one could think of this as an unofficial v.51 release of FFT: Complete.

- Abilities, Character Statistics, Job Levels, and Job Requirements are all identical to the original Japanese release of the game, with one notable exception that is listed below. Ability and Character Statistic differences can be found listed out in the readme.
- Includes ASM hacks made by the Final Fantasy Hacktics community that fix some longstanding bugs and provide quality of life improvements.
c) Most notable (?) "re-balancing" hacks for FFT:
a) Slowdown Removal Patch

Fixes what Square-Enix couldn't

b) FFT WotL - Valeria

In this mod, I adjusted some battle machanics based on experience with Tactics Ogre and re-balance some items and equipment to be more useful and interesting.

If you're familiar with Tactics Ogre gameplay, you'll find this battle mechanics working in similar manner with some new fresh ideas while staying faithful to vanilla design.
One Vison

Sadly, the game isn’t without faults, as some of the new features make it extremely prone to exploits which an experienced player can use to fully remove any challenge from the game. The main goal of this mod is to render such exploits more difficult, bringing weapons, classes and skills closer to the level they should perform at, as well as to each other. Its secondary goal is to provide tweaks to immersion, visuals and some of the more cumbersome game systems like crafting and endless skill farming.

BROs, dragons, evil priests & evil dragon-worshiping priests this time... :obviously:

FE3's Translation Jungle:

a) 2008 Translation by RPGuy96 & VincentASM

b) 2014 Update by Quirino

An updated version of the RPGuy translation that updates names to their official European names as of the official Shadow Dragon release.

For characters whose only official names are from the Fire Emblem Heroes poll, the names from the remake’s translation are given instead. A VWF has been added and the entire script has been updated to take advantage of it.

Many other issues with the RPGuy translation have also been fixed, such as missing text being inserted and a freeze during the best ending being repaired.
c) 2020 Update by RobertTheSable

This is an update to Quirino’s Updated Mystery of the Emblem Fan Translation patch. This release was mostly focused on fixing some errors in the original patch, and as such there are no major script alterations/name changes.
Lil' Manster's Translation + QoL changes

Lil' Manster completes Project Exile by translating some of the missing menu text, including unused content. It also fixes a number of glaring translation inaccuracies, updates names to fit with new localized Fire Emblem content and completes a lot of the game’s information by providing more complete descriptions.

The patch as a whole got a fresh coat of paint, with more readable menu and dialogue fonts, better UI and less (minor) graphical glitches. Finally, a number of quality-of-life features were added to make your experience of Thracia as smooth as it can be.
Full Content Patch

This is a merged patch of all of Cirosan’s previous mods for Shadow Dragon - it combines the Prologue in Hard Mode, Updated Gaiden Requirements Removal, Online Shop Items Integrated into Normal Gameplay, and Always Recruit Norne patches into one. This allows the player to recruit all units, experience all chapters, access all classes, and use the game’s full inventory without content being locked behind death requirements, difficulty level, or the now-defunct Online Shop.

As an added bonus, this patch also comes with a variant that updates certain unit graphics and battle background graphics to their FE12 versions; comparison screenshots can be found below. In general, the FE12 graphics use a slightly brighter color palette and make the black outline around units less noticeable.
a) 2012 Translation by The Heroes of Shadow

Remeber to use included save file, or the bonus content won't be available!

"Heroes of Light and Shadow" features bonus content that can only be unlocked by connecting online. If you have a flashcart and a Wi-Fi connection, you should be sorted.

If you're playing on emulator, you can use the save files provided here to access the bonus content.

b) 2020 Update by joesteve1914

This is the addendum patch for The Heroes of Shadow’ translation of Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem ~Heroes of Light and Shadow~ that fixes every typos present in 3.01, plus changes everything such as the name of characters, items, locations, etc. to better match from Awakening, Heroes, and Warriors.

Edit:also updated the OP with various links.
Edit 2: Unfortunately,my mega folder max size won't allow it.

Testing out Pokemon romhacks.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.Horrible attempts at toilet humor, evil tranny brock and shitty gym puzzle battles. I watched amazing technical talent being wasted on portraits and some random bookshelves. All those romhacks will be lost in time, like tears from butthurt modders. Time to play some good romhacks.

Stick to this list:

Testing out Pokemon romhacks.
Pokemon fangames and hacks are something out of this world. Stuff like Pokemon Reborn's insane plot and random attacks against RL people that played in a private rpg game being included, number-crunching and book-keeping to the point of madness, good ideas executed very poorly, blatant attempts at fucking you over if you try to get stronger than what the devs think you should be, utter shit writing that is almost as bad as modern CRPG games, etc.

I would have thought that Digimon games would have more fangames considering the premise, but oddly enough that's not the case.

Playing FF7 hardtype right now as FF7 remake was an abomination.

So far its good, makes battles actually lethal and interesting. Downside is that even trashfights take 3 to 5 turns which drags on after some dungeon dwelling.

Some romhacks from my backlog:
  1. Monster Rancher 2 Seasonal Shrine Hack (PS1) - Allows you to generate monsters with out the CD insertion mechanic: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3482/
  2. Brigandine Grand Edition Cross Mod (PS1)- Modifies lots of things in the game such as abilities, equipment, sprites, etc… and also add some fixes and addresses balance issues (supposedly): https://vk.com/brigandine_every_day ( you can just download the patched ROM directly from cdromance instead if the link is not working )
  3. Digimon World 2 Hard Mode (PS1) - What it says on the tin. Stats, enemy composition, and attack patterns are modified: https://www.romhacking.net/reviews/6040/#review
  4. Mother 3 Claus Journey (GBA) - A what if scenario, changes the main character from Lucas to Claus, story is greatly changed due to Claus’ personality being very different from Lucas’: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4434/
  5. Tactics Ogre - The Knight of Lodis Rebalance (GBA)- What it says on the tin, next to useless and very weak classes are buffed and overpowered classes are tuned to be less op: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4434/
  6. Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 Ultimate (GBC) - Essentially a hard mode for this game, many aspects are made to be more convenient to accomodate for the increase in difficulty: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4103/
  7. Crystalis Rebalanced (NES) - Removes the level check which allows the Player to beat bosses without spending a lot of time grinding for levels: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/922/
  8. Lufia II - Spekkio Lufia (SNES) - A rebalance mod that makes the game more challenging, also fixes some issues(?) in the game design: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4132/
  9. Lufia II - kureji Lufia (SNES) - A more hardcore or kaizo rebalance mod of the game, same author as Spekkio’s: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4138/
  10. Illusion of Gaia - Apocalypse Gaia (SNES) - Restores the ‘true’ final boss for the final fight in the game. Also fixes some bugs: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4989/
  11. Terranigma NTSC patch (SNES) - Allows the game to run at 60fps: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/541/
  12. Super Mario RPG Armageddon (SNES) - Rebalances the game to be more difficult and also adds more bosses for the post-game content: http://ngplus.net/index.php?/files/file/51-super-mario-rpg-armageddon/

*For most of them, you can download the already pre-patched roms on some sites like cdromance.

There's a new update to a massive hack of Mother 2/Earthbound that seems promising. It even has optional content, and it's been 11 years or so in the making, or so I read. No idea how much modder drama happened behind the scenes. Either way, here's the link:
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2518/

The new 2.0 version of Mother 2 Deluxe is a VAST improvement over the old 1.31 version that was here in romhacking.net.

A very small selection of major new features:

  • Massively rebalanced to make the game more fair and less arbitrarily difficult.
  • Jeff has his own Tools menu of his special items to free up his inventory.
  • Many new battle animations for PSI and Jeff’s Tools.
  • New final dungeon to tie Mother 2 and 3 together.
  • Your Places (formerly known as Your Sanctuaries) that can be skipped until later (Lilliput Steps, Milky Well, Magnet Hill, and Pink Cloud) now auto upgrade their enemies and bosses over time to stay at your power level all game.
  • Enemies completely reprogrammed to be very intelligent. Bosses and stronger enemies can detect status ailments on them and heal themselves.
  • New PSI and PSI arrangements and costs.
  • New battle sprites and enemy overworld sprites.
SO MUCH MORE!

Hack requires EBP (Earthbound Patcher) in order to patch.

Does not play nice with Snes9x and Zsnes (why are you using Zsnes!?) Recommended emulators are BSNES and Mesen-S.

Shame it doesn't work well with SNES9x.

FF7 - Hardtype (also includes fixes such as spirit bug)
Castlevania SOTN - Hardtype
Various Super Mario Bros 3 hacks: e.g 3mix, Adventure and many, many more. Good quality stuff.
FF9 - Unleashed
FF8 - Requiem
FF6 - Eviltype
Castlevania DoS - Magic Seals Fix
Zelda Link to the Past - L/B item switch

I try to expand my romhack horizons but there's so much SHIT. Same with PC modding communities really.

Not too knowledgeable about romhacks, but there's two decent ones for Pokemon (yea, I know). Both are the "touch-up" kind instead of complete revamps.

Pokemon Perfect Crystal - http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3840/
There's an updated version that adds more fixes and tweaks: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4935

The goal of this hack has been to make an idealized definitive version of Pokemon Crystal that has every Pokemon available to catch and to fix a number of glaring glitches that hampered the original game.

Pokemon Throwback
- http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1981/

Pokémon Throwback is a hack created to serve as a definitive version of the original Kanto journey. Based off of Pokémon FireRed, Throwback includes a bevy of features and fixes to make it worth using over the base games.

Features:

A GB Sounds item allows for players to hear the original 8-bit music in the game, as well as switch between it and the standard FR/LG music at any time.
Reasonable Pokémon placement throughout the game - taking cues from all iterations of the first generation games, including Yellow and Japanese Blue - ensures that all Pokémon from the first two generations are obtainable through official-ish means (including canon evolution methods).
The main characters now wear clothing similar to their initial depictions in the original games and related media.
All text has been decapitalized in a manner consistent with the most recent games.
TMs and move tutors are infinitely reusable.
Various bug fixes for the original game.
Just about every kind of Berry is obtainable with repeatable methods, including Berries with EV-reducing/friendship-raising properties.
All meaningful items are now obtainable, trees stay gone once you cut them, you can run indoors, many “tutorial” moments from the game have been removed, and much, much more!
