I've been away. What was the drama that caused the great schism?

DU promoted a tranny to Shoutbox moderator, and it offended the conservative crowd here so much that we effectively left en masse.
Since I haven't been keeping up with the Codex drama who are the resident trannies around here these days?
Has Jarlfrank decided to cut off his dick and become the woman he always wanted to be?

Codex is so much better that this rpghq shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as it. It's so incredibly pathetic, as well as hilarious, that they supposedly have some principles and are totally against "DEI/woke/liberal" culture, but instead of abstaining from implicitly accepting, supporting and promoting what they believe are their enemies (by, you know, NOT playing the things those enemies of theirs make), they instead go out of their way to make mods to "remove woke" from those things, investing time (and money) by doing so.

How more incoherent and cretinous can you possibly get? I think that's about the absolute highest level physically possible.

Thus, voting for Codex obviously.
As far as I can tell, they're not actually buying the games.

Years of simp squad attacking other posters, other posters firing back and getting warned/banned/censured/driven off by the staff for not taking shit from their sacred lolcows. DU admitted he liked having Atlet around to enrage people on his list for example. End result lots of active old timers left over the years even before a sizeable chunk of them went to the HQ.

Just for kicks the group the staff spent years white knighting for mostly left to various discords pretty much the very next day.

I've no idea what's going in this description.

There are whole communities and dramas going on this site that I have no idea about.

People with 10 000 posts, been here almost a decade, and I've never interacted in the same threads as them.

Doesn't materially support the devs

Some will buy the games, even if only "eventually" on the sale. For the sake of convenience.

and it makes other modders/fans incredibly angry.

This does not matter, has never actually mattered or changed anything for the better, and will never matter.

RPGhq has a comfy community but unfortunately there seems to be not very many posters interested in discussing JRPGs, VNs, or gachas.
I attend an adventure game forum where people frequently bump stuff from several years ago in the rare events anyone posts there - like two or three posts a week, two of them about steam sales.
It's not comfy, it's fucking dead

The simp squad/coterie were largely only interested in posting in the shoutbox and when that was removed for a while, they had no reason to stay on the site.
