I recall horrible clusterfuck combat, 'planets' that consisted of a corridor in which you must fetch parts of some holy star-sword (sorry, map) and mind-bogglingly irritating companions....I still enjoyed that game,
Uh huh.

"The game was good...except for the fact that it sucked."

“I’m looking for my father. Middle-aged guy. Have you seen him?”
Thats one of the better dialogue lines in the game.

Ok, that's an exaggeration.

Sure, that line is just sheer stupidity.
But there were some decently written lines in the game you just wouldn't know it.

Why? Because they were read by voice actors that sounded:

A) Bored
B) Amateurish
C) Like they were reading to a Kindergarten class out of a story book
D) All of the above.

Correct answer is D.

Bethesda needs to hire a good writer AND a good script director.

There is absolutely no depth or sense of emotion from about 95% of the characters in the game based on their voiced lines.

The other day my dog shat on the carpet >.< The shit was vile, stunk, and made me cry a little when I came home from work and discovered it, sitting smugly in all its glory. BUT-- I enjoyed it for what it was: It was an exceptional piece of shit, unlike many I had seen before.

You know what it was? It was bad. And it should be judged as such. Jesus, if I'm asked to rate the smell of shit I don't say, "Well I'd usually say it smells awful, but considering that it's shit it's pretty nice!".
