Running Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat on Win 7?

If I need to run it on 7, is setting up a virtual machine the only way to go?

I bought a used big box of it for my brother as a birthday present, since he's a fan of Dark Omen but unfortunately he mostly uses his laptop with Win 7 and told me that the solution described on Abandonia does not work on it.

So anyone knows whether there's another way to get it to work on 7 than setting up a virtual machine?

I would go for virtual machine on this one, especially if you want to play more oldies.

Thanks. I tried to get this to run unsuccessful just a few weeks ago. I hope the work around actually works.
