Behold my stamp timing

J1l6a3Q.jpg

Baseballdude COMPLETED, loved it.

You know what, this baseball/yakuza/betting plot... still made sense, this can legit happen for real, unlike some rubber things, pretty eyes from fbi, secret dead people plotting in secret for 30 secret years etc.

Still, this part was a bit... short? A HUGE section of nagoya map was never used.

And now i have to grind the stupid food critic...

But not before i grind all the vtuber yakuza clips.

This duck played mesuking more than i did lol

Though also gonna finish substories in 0-3 so I can find the Amon bitches and kick their ass forever as thanks for the bullshit Jo pulls.
I can't think of any video game character that has pissed me off so badly that I am willing to replay games solely to fuck him up. GG Sega.

Ok finale, grinding the side stuff.

What a pain in the ass the food dude was.

For the story... about the big bad reveal... ok it was "a bit" forced but everything still made sense, this is the more legit story of all yakuza.

i mean

lol those idiots still beating each other on the roof, well.. THEY ARE muscle idiots and THEY LIVE to beat strong people, luring the big bad was... just some excuse lol.
Kiryu wanted it so so bad.
And the big bad made all this intricate plan... cuz he was SEETHING about getting old and weak, just amazing.

I don't get why people complain about it.

A lot of Yakuza makes sense when you realize for all their wisdom and charm most of these dudes are essentially meatheads with no taste or talent for anything other than a straightforward beat-the-shit-out-of-people approach. Sometimes I think the reason the villains can get away with stupidly rubbergrade shit is because the other characters do not even think of considering subterfuge and deception.

I think that if I were Japanese, this series would be insufferable with all the product placement and celebrity cameos (like Tatsuya), especially the latter since it's so flattering to the point of parody. I hear that Tatsuya Kawagoe is a complete asshole in real life, too.

I also get the feeling that this series would be considered rather leftist in Japan, especially Yakuza 4 with the "crazy nationalists" side mission and the pro-American sentiments expressed in the conclusion of The Master's training missions regarding World War 2. Then again, this series is sort of flip-floppy with its presentation of the yakuza (whether they're just violent crooks, or the fantasy modern-day samurai the yakuza like to present themselves as), and I've read that they often associate with far-right nationalist militias in real life.

One of the central ideas behind the series is to have protagonists who are like the romantic depiction of yakuza (and how the yakuza depict themselves, hence pseudonym chivalrious organization; there's a great article by Jake Adelstein who is a veteran crime reporter specialized in the yakuza where he sat down three of them to play Yakuza 3), but surround them with yakuza that are more like how yakuza actually are.

Best bit of the banter between the trio that Jake wrote down: Sure the orphanage was a tax evasion scheme, but it was also a real orphanage on the side.

I hear that guy embellished that stuff like crazy though. Pinch of salt recommended.

It's a cool article. But, yeah, he could just as easily have made the whole thing up.

Good article, even if it is embellished. Absolutely lmao at the yakuza suggesting the Jewish reporter works for Mossad.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I reached chapter 10 in Like a Dragon. I feel like it was a smart move to do the management game because these fights would have been brutal if not.

SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME. yOU WILL RUIN IT FOR YOURSELF

Not only is Eri a very good party member, but you get four instead of three party members. I have her job set to dealer for now. It has served me very well. She has what I presume are the best cards in the game, which I got from the casino. It's just a shame that she is not acknowledged by the main story. She's not in any cut scenes, and dialog does not even mention her in any way. Adachi has been reduced to a reserve member, and instead, I use the Korean, whose name I shall not reveal, in case someone reads despite my warning. He's great at single target damage. I see no need to change his job for now.

I have been doing lots of side stuff. All the side stories I have found to this point are completed, Romance workshop is maxed. I have some stuff to do in Ichiban Confections, and I have done a lot of part-time hero stuff, but I'm not going for 100%. In the Dragon Kart Cup, I have one cup remaining.
Money is no longer an issue, I had over 1 million chips. I bought tons of platinum plates and sold them off.

Holy damn 63h, almost double my yakuza 4 run, but unlike 4 i legit enjoyed most of those.

I liked the final chapter, epilogue was stupid as usual but nice final fight.
I liked how, in the end, everything made sense, i don't get the complains about the story not making sense.

and no one died lol, EVEN BABA-CHAN SURVIVED

Shinada best boy.

I liked Yakuza 5 more than 0, best maps, best side stuff, SHINADA, best variety.

OK, gotta get 6 now, how long it is?

Just beat Yakuza 4. It’s nice to play as different characters other then Kiryu again.

Akiyama was great, every second he’s on screen he steals the show.
I liked Saijima, I don’t have a lot to say about him, but I liked him.
Tanimura left no impression on me, I’ve heard that he doesn’t show up in any of the future games and I can’t say I’m upset about it.
Kiryu honestly felt out of character at times?
Like how he just forgives Hamazaki for stabbing him and expects Haruka to do the same.

The soundtrack was some good shit.

I had more fun with this combat-wise compared to 3, it’s nice to not have HP sponge enemies and to not fall over whenever a weapon grazes my pinky toe.
I’ll reiterate that it was nice to get some different fighting styles to play around with.
I wish there was more boss fights honestly, Akiyama gets like 2, including his final boss.
On another note, FUCK Tanimura’s final boss, holy SHIT what were they thinking? I had to resort to abusing the assload of i-frames you get from his throws just to have a chance. That was some Jingu-tier garbage.

The rubber bullets were retarded, actually, most of the main plot was retarded compared to the other games. I’ve heard 4 is one of the weakest in that regard and I have to agree.

Anyway, on to 5.
Wait, why is Kiryu driving a taxi...?

Yeah though if you finish training and substories of the first 3 the reward you get completely defangs the asshole. Also I think abusing the i frames is kind of the point.

I liked Saijima, I don’t have a lot to say about him, but I liked him
Rubber bullet stupidity aside the guy feels like a more idealized version of the yakuza than Kiryu. Helping all the helpless and all that stuff but ultimately a man of violence and a gangster.
