Hopefully it'll be more like FE and SE than 2.

Any idea what the BFE stands for? Before First Encounter?

Curious to see what they did with it. Not going to help that they're basically going head-to-head with Duke Nuke'em.

Do you mean the new console shit which will have slooooooow gameplay thanks to gamepads? They can beat it with ease as long as SS3 isn't multiplatform.

Are console versions of previous SS games slower? I always wondered how something like The Second Encounter would play with gamepad.

Dunno about console ports of SS1, but compared to it gameplay in SS2 (which was to be a multiplatform title right away) was slower and thus boring. Bet they were slowed down as well.

Not only slower gameplay but the maps were smaller and extremely simplified compared to the large and varied ones of the first two games. Weapons were also weakened.

Not sure how much of SS2's failures can be attributed to consoles but it was a general problem with the game, not just a few design issues. A real shame.

Well that would be pointless, the whole point of these games is 'splosions and shooting a lot of stuff.

SS1 SE really whet my appetite. Let's hope they'll stay true to that.
