Saints Row will no longer release on the originally announced date of 25th February 2022, instead it will launch worldwide on 23rd August 2022.

Our priority is to create the best Saints Row game yet and, if we released on the original date, it wouldn’t be up to the standards we’ve set ourselves, and that you’re expecting and deserve. The team just need more time to do our vision justice; we’re doing some fine tuning and there won’t be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish.

In all honesty, we underestimated the impact COVID would have on our schedule, although everyone adapted very quickly to the working from home arrangement and continued to be incredibly productive.

However, due to the size and scope of our new Saints Row, it’s become apparent that to create the best game possible, we need to give our team longer to perfect their craft.

As mentioned when we announced Saints Row in August, this will be the biggest and best Saints Row game ever and, in order to achieve our goal, we’ve settled upon a generous, yet essential amount of time to realise our ambitions.

Rest assured, there will not be any changes to the story or the characters or anything that we’ve lovingly imagined over the last few years and already shared with you.

Over the past two years, all corners of the entertainment industry have been affected/impacted in one way or another. As gamers ourselves, we know what it feels like to have something delayed which you’ve been looking forward to; it’s frustrating and you feel disappointed. But we also know that when we finally get Saints Row in your hands, it will have been worth the wait. It’s our absolute priority to get this right.

Keep it strange,
Jim
Six months' worth of bugfixes, with no change to the story and the characters.

That is... imagine six months' worth of bugfixes. That's a lot of bugs, it's kind of impressive.

With the need to paste "pre-alpha" over every piece of footage, I have no idea why they expected to release in February in the first place.

They would have were it not for the major negative reception to the footage.

Surely they made it full of annoying phony woke pricks because that's what the mainstream gamer is now? People can't make places like reddit one of the most viewed websites in the world and promote that aggressively woke hivemind agenda, and then cry when they get exactly what they want.

Imagine hearing Delinquent Habits tunes in a woke game trailer!

If you had any idea of the amount of porn being shared and posted on reddit, you'd also know why it's one of the most viewed websites in the world too!

You know, I've always wondered something: If this game series was so great, why is it that I have never heard anything about it except for the occasional mention of the name in a list on PirateBay? What is it about, and why does nobody ever care to speak of it?

It is pretty big, they just stopped making them. The last one was 2013 and they were always underdogs, like a GTA copy with a twist but with a lower budget too. I only played two of them and hated one, loved the other.

because Saint's Row 2 was the last really great game they put out but the PC port was shit so it doesn't get enough play by normies and SR3 and 4 were mediocre to good at best, easy to forget in the sea of other mediocre to good open world games.

...plus it's always had a reputation as a GTA clone which it tried to shake with SR3 but ultimately failed to do so because they lost sight of why people liked to play their game and decided to lean into the wackier side of the games ultimately to the franchise's detriment.

because you're "no fun allowed" in person.
This does nothing to explain why no one else seems to have said anything about it either.
I guess everyone else then thinks SR games are... fun? Nobody in his right mind would tell you about something fun, it just makes you cranky. :hahano:
