Today, the two companies announced that Sam & Max Episode 1: Culture Shock, the first installment in the six-part Sam & Max: Season 1, would be available on October 17. The episode will follow the dog and rabbit duo as they "discover that a group of former child stars have become involved in nefarious deeds," according to Telltale.

1017. Never forget.

"a group of former child stars have become involved in nefarious deeds". That's gold right there. Hopefully they can make something of it. Be a bit pissed if the episodes are really short and don't have much in them.

There is a trailer for it too, but I wasn´t that impressed..
First of all, graphix is important in adventure games to me, and I just cant see why they cant do 2d anymore.. What the hell is it that is so tempting about 3D? Yes, its easier/faster to make the game, but hell, gamemaking isnt supposed to be easy/fast..It looks like anus.. Id be glad if they just had the old s&m graphs with maybe a bit higher resolution..

Also, being a big fan of old s&m, I felt that sams voiceover is a really bad actor.. He just dont punch the lines the same way the old guy did, and it really takes the edge away from the dialog ..

Anyway, maybe Ill turn the voices off, and just read my way though the game, that worked for the old game, until I got the voiced version..

also, what the hell is this seasoncrap shit..? Its idiotic.. We´re not watching fucking lost here, its a game and I want the whole bloody game at once, not chopped in pieces so I can forget what the story was all about once s2 lands.. Also, how am I to be immörsedd in the game if I cant play it from start to finish? idiotic

Wasn't the idea to update monthly with a new "episode" while filling in the gaps with free content? It's certainly a lot more like a television format than Half-Life: Wait Forever.

Also, don, the episodes usually have stand-alone stories, so it's actually like a tv show or the comic.

Is there any kind of pricing scheme on the episodes yet? I'm not exactly thrilled with the new pay for mods and episodic content, but I can see it sort of working for an Adventure game if the pricing is right.

Gametap is $10/month, and the individual episodes will possibly be $7 or less.

7 bucks a pop? I hope the 6 episodes added up are more than one full game because 42 bucks for an indy Adventure game is asking a lot. Plus, you're basically paying for a demo with that first episode.
