Seems like they were no joking. 4.1 got posted on roadmap and it only has new locations, some guns and some npcs. 0 new features.
I fully expected they would lie again and just add whatever new hot feature there is.

I really hope they will go ham on bugs and finally polish experience.

Answering your question: Nothing official about a soft-launch in 2026 but it's backed by CIG leaks.
Ah yes, the leaks...
Two more weeks until Squadron 42's release according to the GeForce Now leaks
Nice two week gap between SQ42 and SC so you can experience the lore before jumping into the verse

Welp, its only a matter of time till you guys get one right... I guess?

If I streamed/recorded my sessions, people would've been amazed I got multiple perfect sessions in a row

:hmmm:
SC should hypothetically get a Guiness record at having the most fucking confusing release timeline in history.

I've put around 30 hours into Star Citizen over the past week doing the Fight for Pyro narrative event and it's been relatively bug free on 4.0.1
4.0.2 is supposed to launch next week and be the big 4.0 cleanup patch. If it weren't for the wipes, I'd be logging in everyday and playing this as my main game.
Is there any kind of "guarantee" (heh let's pretend!) as to any progression being relatively permanent? As in, I get enough money to buy an ass, and I keep that money or ass after 1.0 launches?

Probably 4.0.2 which should go live in few days, i am on spectrum reading patchnotes for smaller 4.0.2 version patches and one of them fixed like 70% of major bugs. Elevators also got some polish but are yet to be fixed completely.

Turns out that if you let senior devs fix the bugs for once... they fix the bugs. SC had tendency letting juniors fix the bugs... yeah.

I tried 4.0.2 on the PTU the other night and it was a night and day difference compared to the live servers after 3 days of degraded performance. No idea how much of that is lower demand of live versus PTU.

The release candidate seems to be going through and we'll be getting it on live in the next three days.
