Some of the old tech and popular culture in Alien: Isolation are just dumb. The rounded monitors from the movie I'm okay with because it gives the feeling of them looking back at you. But then you also have stereos, cassette tapes, big printers, AA batteries... Even filmmakers and science fiction artists in the 1970s would have thought this was dumb.

I was more bother by the fact that it is so fucking static. It's just set pieces, you cannot even shoot a can out of the table.

I like the visuals and audio, and generally the combat atmosphere. It does a decent job there and the basic gameplay is also fine. If only they had made a proper campaign, missions with more lances and an adjustable hud ...

Finally, after YEARS of searching I found a shareware version of a game I played in my childhood. It's not available on any abandonware sites... but I finally managed to find it in a shareware compilation CD uploaded to archive.org: https://archive.org/details/BLASTERTopWareApril1994_201401

Super Get'Em All!

Fun fact: this game was made by the guy who invented Doom pacifist runs. Pretty cool.
You play as a little ladybug who has to pick up items and avoid enemies.
