Let's see if there will actually be any worthwhile content updates first. Most DLC out there has been pretty underwhelming.

You also have to redownload the entire game every time there's a patch. Steam says it's something close to 2 gb.

So 20-25 minutes then. Oh, whatever will I do?

Oh, wait. I'll use my steam key. Sure, I have a drm-free version from kickstarter. But unlike some of the tinfoil hat fuckers ITT, I don't mind steam. Problem, piracyfags?

You also have to trust that Harebrained's servers can hold up while who knows how many people keep downloading that 2 gb file. The Witcher 2 FCR mod wrecked CD Projekt the first day it was out.

It's also no good for people who live in places with bandwidth caps like Australia.

As Ulminati already said, Kickstarter backers get both DRM free version and a Steam copy. All problems solved.

As a fan of the snes game i really hope they got the story/atmosphere/adventure part right.
I don't really care about cRPG mechanics with this game, something i usually like a lot.
And i hope it will not be a succession of combat missions and boring side quest.
The adventure part, the exploration (even if limited) and the story (which was not extraordinary but very well done and paced) was the strong point of the snes games while the combat was uninteresting. The game had the same feeling as classic adventure game where the fun was to discover new "screens" and NPC and progressing in the story.
HBS wrote a short story to describe the shadowrun setting ( http://fluffandsmoke.tumblr.com/ ), i don't know if this story will have any tie with the one of the PC game.
Unfortunately it is not very encouraging as i found the story/writing bad (the first chapter was quite good though).

I'm not even planning on using my DRM-free copy save for rubbing it in the face of butthurt people while I enjoy my Steam version. :smug:

I'm only planning to use mine if I still want to play SRR after Steam inevitably crumbles under its own weight and dies, sometime in the future.
And maybe when I go on vacation to somewhere with no/wonky internet connection.

If I go on vacation, I'm on vacation. It'd have to be a pretty shitty vacation for me to bother bringing computergames along. :rpgcodex:

I regret not pledgeing for this game, I could have owned it for cheaper than the steam price, which is just a bit too high for me right now.

It cost $15 for the kickstarter, is that last dollar the problem?

Why are people still griping about looting random gangbangers? We already went over that several times. The only people who seemed to think it was important were people who never played Shadowrun p&p.
i dunno how you were playing sr pnp, but we slaughtered boostergangs and sold their chopped up bodies to some ripper doc or black clinic when short on cash.

People still using that retarded excuse to justify the lack of a proper looting system. At least people found a way to improvise it on the editor.

Since I bought a physical copy I have three Steam keys. I was wondering what I was going to do with the extras, so I'll just give you one (and Berlin when it's out).

What the fuck does one have to do with the other? What's important is implementing the base system and have it be used when it makes sense.

But at least modders found a way to do it so whatever.
