It's a pity that we will never get proper 2000ad games. The Dredd and Rogue Tropper ones are fine I guess. Bloodrayne *is* Durham Red: The Game, I don't care about what the devs said.

How are the Bloodrayne games? I got them super cheap then read that they were super buggy. Still sitting in my backlog. Also I read very little of Strontium Dog, is that worth a closer look?

Bloodrayne games are pretty fun action games, nothing out of this world but you can't really go wrong with that. There are ways to fix the most serious bugs if the games don't work as intended, but the gog versions seem to be fine.

Durham Red was introduced as a SD character, actually, in a rather fun and unmistakably 2000ad-ish, where some alien terrorists kidnap Ronald Reagan and SD and DR (the "strontium bitch") have to team up to rescue him somehow.
Strontium Dog is quite good and you should read it if you already like other 2000ad characters. It's actually one of the classic characters from their roster, along with Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper and the ABC Warriors. The story deals with mutants who were affected by nuclear fallout and developed notorious physical traits; because of this they were labeled as the "strontium dogs" and forced to carry a badge to differentiate them from regular alien species. Most of them work as bounty hunters because nobody would employ them as anything. In fact, that's how Johnny Alpha (the main character) meets Durham Red, they were both tracking down the same target. Overall it's kind of the opposite of Judge Dredd in terms of morality, Johnny tends to be more compassionate and would let their targets go if he realizes they did their crimes for good reasons.

This is a neat little game, or at least the re-release/remaster is. It's not as good as Volgarr (it's too easy to be compared to that, anyway), or Shovel Knight, but it's pretty fun and there's actually more than a couple of combat moves. However, it's repetitive and so far the level design hasn't been interesting at all, mainly a straight line to the end in line with the newer Castlevanias.
