Yep, I did, the digital deluxe collectors lovers fetish dragon lube version, as well.
Turned out, after a few hours of "demoing" it, this was a game that made me want to actually support the developers (not so much EA, but what can I do). I also foresee nice things to come withe the toolset. Anyways, what's your stance - leave it, pirate it or buy?

I think some would buy the game and pirate the DLC.

i think "buy it, pirate the dlc" would be the most popular response

it's what i'd have done if the dlc wasn't in my pre-order

    Where's the 'try-before-you-buy' option?

I did what I pretty much do for all games, pirate it now and buy it second hand or once it reaches the bargain bins.

Also, how are the 'bricks and mortar' shops even staying in business. I just went down to my loca EB and the standard version is $99 AU. I can buy via DD for almost half that! When I mentioned it to the guy behind the counter - he said "yeah I know, Steam's killing us..."

Not that I'd buy from steam, but to many that's the only DD they know of.

Try before you buy is what I take as granted. I therefore assume that it falls under the buy it category. Maybe that's because I have been firmly rooted in the "try-it;-decide-it's-not-worth-my-money;-so-no-sale" camp for the last few years.

  8. Ah hell. The "Buy it and pirate the DLC" option wasn't there when I voted. I wanna vote for that instead.

Though the DLC isn't pirated yet. It's out there for download, but it doesn't actually work. Not that big a problem though, since Stone Prisoner is the more useful one and it comes with retail copies.

I probably would buy it, but I bought Mass Effect, so Bioware owes me.

I voted buy it, some things I dont like but its a well crafted game that I am having fun with.

Only part I dont have is the Warden's Keep. Is it worth getting?

  11. Sounds like probably not. I heard it was only around an hour long, which for $7 doesn't seem particularly good. You get a place to stash items though, which could be nice. Plus it apparently has one or two new specializations in it.

I might buy it if I wasn't fucking broke. I'm still undecided though, I haven't had a chance to install it on my gaming PC.

So, DA's out I take it? Interesting. Nothing I've read sounds appealing enough to consider a purchase just yet. Maybe in a couple of months, if I've got nothing else to play. But, not being a compulsive consumer of the new shit there's a whole catalogue of recent games I've yet to experience, so it has some competition.

Same here. The game simply looks so incredibly generic that I'm having a hard time justifying to actually spend money and leisure time on it while there are still indy RPGs and certain GOG games to play. I've already skipped Oblivion, Mass Effect and Fallout 3 and I doesn't have the impression that I've missed anything special in my life. The Codex' fascination with games they pretend to hate before release and the actual buying behavior puzzles me to this very day. There's always a sizable amount of regulars here who also dislike the game afterwards but at the same time have given away the little power they have to influence the market: Your wallet. It's a trivial truth but it should be repeated nonetheless: Publishers don't give a shit about bitching on the Internet. All they look at is the bottom line. If you buy dumbed down games and justify it before yourself with something akin to "it could be worse" then all you do is to increase the decline.

I haven't bought/pirated that piece of shit fallout 3, why would I buy or pirate ANOTHER piece of shit?
There are games out there that are so incredibly bad you don't want to play them even if they're for free.
