That a game being the logical next must play of turnbased, squadbased, member management, hard gunporn, lite RPG exist?

The earliest of time we have Jagged Alliance 2.

After Jagged Alliance 2, we have Fallout Tactic

After Fallout Tactics, we have Silent Storm.

After Silent Storm, we can grit our teeth with UFO Afterlight.

And finally silence. Cursed Silence! No next successor!

I ask Codex: are there no hope?:dead:

I do not understand what this thread is about. We are having quite a turn based renaissance this last two years. Get out of your cave.

Give me $1 million USD in development budget and I might consider it.

Inb4 95% of the budget goes into cocaine-laded parties ala California style management

Doubt it. No melee weapons. What little I saw makes it look like Shadowrun Returns the western.

That's a preeeetty narrow specification bro. Seems like you're looking for a JA2 clone. Why not try the new remake then? I don't follow this one but last I heard the JA2 grognards embraced it.

There is no hope. The weak-ass, kiddie-pool 2AP version of turn-based combat is as far into the waters of tactics as this current set is willing to go.

Maybe. Just maybe, the tenth Jagged Alliance successor won't wimp out. It remains to be seen.

Very narrow. Didnt you read the following para that detailed game by game of that definition?
(For your information, I did play both pre-113 and post-113)

Why don't you simply go to make new JA2 maps, new FO:T campaigns etc instead to whine endlessly?

That's all very sad.

Now imagine being a Castle Builders fan.

There's Stronghold... And that's about it.

Because I want to play a good game, not a bloody amateur fan game?

Comparing to your standards, p. much all the games newly released are at best bloody amateur games (SR, Wasteland 2 (lol) etc) - not sure really what you expcect.

The JA2 combat engine for example is there. Just make something better out of it with new maps etc.

Don't you get it? Laclongquan only wants the best game ever, tailored to his exact specificatiosn and tastes, delivered to him on a silver platter without having to do any work. Is that really so unreasonable?
