C O N S O L E S ! ! !

:kwafuckyeah:
I'm just not sure $60 is worth the risk.
However, the reality is I played every inch of it, collected almost every hidden item, completed every single side quest, and maxed out the level cap long before it ended. That’s partly out of the duty of reviewing a game with enough time to do so, certainly, but I can’t deny that I was dragged deep.
If it weren't SP, I'd probably have picked it up by now. And once again, I posted a coupon to make it $45 on Green Man Gaming for PC download.
Is there anyone who's enjoying it and would recommend even though they don't enjoy the TV show? Seems like combat is too shallow if you don't enjoy the setting. I don't give a shit that it's offensive, I'm on the Codex, I just rarely found it funny.
If you examine everything in Cartman's yard, he'll call you a "hardcore gamer" when you leave his house
I don't get what's the problem there? It's a decent joke.If you examine everything in Cartman's yard, he'll call you a "hardcore gamer" when you leave his house
Wow. That's just...sad.
Oh, Obsidian.

lol. shutup scrub. clicking on a bunch of shit in a video makes you more intelligent than exactly no one.
It's South Park. If you like South Park you'll like this. If not then simply don't bother.
Watched a few episodes, not exactly a fan but didn't hate it...
For 60 bucks...How does it fare as a RPG?

It's important to remember that Cartman is supposed to be a child. In his opinion, you're DEFINITELY a hardcore gamer if you examine things, or even read dialog. I enjoy reading/am terrified of the articles and blogs of game journals who write about their children. Kids, especially under 10, that play games essentially see them as murder simulators. They love to get their kill on, and that is all that matters. When I was 10 I was playing Ultima IV and trying my best to figure out moral dilemmas. They are killing hookers and giggling as their meth dealing character commits murder after murder.
Many, many adults (if not most) pound furiously on the "skip" button as soon as dialog appears. Players often hate stories. That is why story driven RPGs are a niche genre that is selling well to adults on Kickstarter. Adults that actually have the money to fund these games. Kids, and semi-kids in their dorms and just out of school, don't give a flying shit about story. When story gets in the way of their murder sprees they press skip.
Examining items, looking for backstory, looking for clues, being interested in the world? That's a thing of the past. It's exactly why we have someone like Leonard Boyarsky working at Blizzard, a company that stopped really caring about delivering story years ago. We are relics to the mainstream, and that's why people post on a site like this and are seen as hostile and hating of modern gaming. Because modern gaming doesn't give a shit that we like choices, that we like intelligent game design and challenging, rewarding gameplay. We aren't morons that can't handle story and just need the rush of an exploding skyscraper and rattle of guns, so we don't matter. We're "hardcore" to children because we're actually interested in the game's world. It is an appropriate joke because it's coming from a child, not from the developer, who probably wishes that they could make more intelligent, story focused games.
Oh, Obsidian.
Except that sort of 'system' also encourages people who won't pay $60 to torrent it so not sure it actually brings in more money overall. The bitterness of the "I'll wait til it's shovelware" comments crack me up. You're playing to the system, not duping it. They sell at $60 so they nab people twice as rich as you who don't give two shits about $60. They don't and never expected you with your income to buy it at release.
