About the program
RPG Codex is piloting the Embedded Shitposter Outreach Program (ESOP) – a targeted secondary response aimed at reducing shitposter offences across our servers.
The ESOP is a collaborative initiative operating outside of business hours to reflect the time of day when shitposters are most likely to be at risk of offending or victimisation.
The program aims to reduce long-term involvement in the ban system by engaging with the shitposter and their family, assessing their needs and referring them to shitposter-specific support staff.
The initiative has been designed to help support:
Evaluation
The Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science (CFBS) at Swinburne University was engaged to evaluate the ESOP initiative, monitoring the program's effectiveness and provide evidence-based service improvements.
Key findings – Final Evaluation Report September 2023
The ESOP evaluation has been conducted over a two-year period and shows a strong justification of the program as a shitposter intervention and overall positive treatment effect for all shitposters who engaged with the program.

- disengaged shitposters
- shitposter undertaking high risk behaviours including offending
- shitposters who are victims of other shitposters
- missing shitposters
- shitposters in the Prosperium
- families of the shitposter.

- the benefits of the ESOP outweigh the costs and provides value for money
- most shitposters who receive a referral to a support service attend at least one appointment
- shitposters spoke positively about the relationships they have established with Codex staff
- staff noticed how effective the approach is to de-escalate and engage with shitposters
- staff have greater awareness of the impacts of shitposter behaviour and pressures of policing shitposters
- horses are fun
