I wonder when they will announce 3.13 on roadmap. Or if they will ever at all considering their new sprint roadmap will be released before Christmas and it won't actually include any roadmap other than what people work atm.

SC might not become an actual game, but at least it is a good platform for new technology. Because it looks amazing, no doubt about that.

Latest evocati 3.12 patch brings wind volumes behind engines and all physic based object will react to it.
So walking behind engine can lead to spontaneous take offs for walking players.

With the current state of their "physics", walking, running, clicking the mouse, pressing a key ot drinking tea can all lead to spontaneous take offs: https://i.imgur.com/ZnKp9xb.mp4

Roflmao! Well, I’m sure when the “physics” tech 2.0b hits in 7 years, around the same time when they finish the elevator panels, it will be just like real-life, but better.

I assume people will be able to leave all their digital ships in their will so the kids might be able to use them some day.

    Someone got triggered
Also wasting money and computer space for a 125gb disk lmao
I've had porn folders bigger than that
Might as well just take that money and buy a 100+ Gb pen drive, would be a superior investment

I have no problems with Doom Eternal
And recentely installed Cyberpunk, even as the buggy mess it is I found no problems with loading and the stuttering was fixed when I found out the game wasn't even using 1Gb of my RAM and GPU
This is not to speak of the other modern games I have currentely insatlled (such as DMC5, REmake 2, Nioh, the WiiU, PS3 and Switch emulators, etc...) wich all have no problems, so clearly this whole "HDD's can't run modern games" is mostly bullshit and the few cases it might be true it's because the optimization of the game is complete dog shit
    Like Star Citzen over here...

    No, you're doing right!

Get HDD make sure its a 5400 rpm - they are quieter and safer. Also run a webserver and a 128 GB pagefile on it ok. SSDs are just 1-2% faster so keep up the good fight.

Can you believe what you're reading BB?

I bought my Samsung 830 9 (?!?) years ago now. Could you imagine fucking about with a slow, shitass mechanical as a main windows drive for all those years? Having to encapsulate it in rubber grommets because you can hear that piece of shit rattle itself to oblivion. Windows recently bugged out and set my pagefile to one of my mechanicals, a 7200rpm Samsung and great drive for what it is. It was the BG3 EE, so there must be a memory leak, because I was wondering why my game was stuttering like a motherfucker and textures not loading. Also WHY COULD I HEAR MY MECHANICAL GOING APESHIT through my case. Game was running out of DDR and streaming shit off a platter so I set pagefile back to my C: SSD drive, no issues after. Night and day difference in user experience... Motherfucker, I couldn't believe it.

Shit is like VRAM, you don't notice it until it's gone, but when it is you can bend over, nigger.

Money's tight, I get and respect that. Which is all the more reason to treat yourself to the biggest single performance uplift your computer could ever experience that could be bought for a paltry £15 today. When does that ever happen in computing? This industry makes you pay through the nose for every percentile of performance. I paid through the nose 9 years ago so stubborn portugese autists don't have to today. Embrace it, faggot.

Or dont, I don't give a shit as it's not my computer. But don't talk complete bollocks on the 'Dex and expect to not be challenged.

SSDs are crazy but with Optane it could get even better. There may be a future where loading times are a thing of the past and games open instantaneously, almost like RAM. Although we could already be at this point if they would not bloat games so much. I can still remember times when gigabytes was an insane unit and people were conservative about megabytes.

They even got M.2 cards which put SATA SSD to shame.

M.2 is just an interface. What ppl mean with "M.2" is NVME drives which are all right but the advantage is only sequential access. People report there isn't much noticeable difference to SSDs, they are faster though. Optane is the better architecture because it improves random access times and your system becomes much more responsive. It's just a little expensive right now.

    Challenge? What challenge?
There's no challenge here because nobody still ain't given me a compelling enough reason for me to consider it's purchase
So far it's been nothing but 'Oh it's a night and day difference! Trust me anon. Loading times are faster lmao'

The points so far have been this.

    Mine:
-much cheaper and higher storage capacity (the only thing I require of a hard drive)
-7200rpm fast enough to access files and do my things
-absolutely no problems with it in the last 5 years
-has no issues dealing with modern AAA games with titanic file sizes

    Everyone else:
-much faster and efficient performance (good point sure, but still not enough to overcome the significant price increase for the same capacity)
-loading screens are faster lol (literally no problem for me, specially since not even the mess that is CP2077 makes me wait more than 20 seconds)
-oh it's required to play all these modern simulators which I'll never play because I am not a fucking boomer (or running badly optimized vapourware like Star Citzen)

Do SSD's last longer, are they more durable?
Are they simpler to diagnose, mantain and repair?
Is recovering lost data from an SSD easier than in a HDD?

If SSD's do outperform HDD's in these areas, then I might very well acquaire one
If not, then I won't be switching any time soon
In fact I am actually considering to buy a 2Tb HDD which I can get for some 50/60 euros or even a 3Tb one which is only like 30 jewros more
While for a 2Tb SDD I can't find one that isn't bellow 200 fucking euros (with that I could upgrade my CPU), so I don't even want to know how much I would have to waste for a 3Tb one
