Now available as a separate video:

I listened to it, and still don't know whether it's an rpg or just a dark souls clone.

Sounds a lot like Dark Souls to me:

action-focused
vertical exploration
move from fight to fight
weapons intergrated to body
more than 7 weapons
families of weapons
lots of side quests

“Lots of sidequests” does not sound like Dark Souls or its imitators.

Mixing future technology with the past always seemed incredibly goofy to me. Flying pyramids, steampunk, 18th century robots...peak cringe.

Then again if we get a good Souls-like with great level design I could live with it.

sounds like every action-rpg ever.
Why bother differentiating action RPGs. Kingdom Come: Deliverance? Dark Souls? Same shit, right?
there is nothing specific in that list that can trace back to Dark Souls. Action focused, vertical exploration, lots of sidequests, more than 7 weapons - that's basically Elex. Hell, just add a jump ability to Greedfall and it will match the description, except for integrated weapons.

If Spiders would've said "there are checkpoints where you replenish your resources, and all enemies respawn once you take a rest" - then you could say "sounds a lot like Dark Souls to me".

jehanne pls cosplay again k thx

I don't know if she already hit the wall or whatever she's using made her visibly look more ragged. Greedfall wasn't that long ago.

I like the idea of making a 18th century Nier Automata, I just hope Aegis's assets don't fall flat

I am thinking this is going to be very combat-oriented due to very heavy emphasis put on weapons and on "moving from fight to fight" (basically the whole interview is about it). While action RPGs in general do feature combat as significant part of their gameplay, some are pretty much exclusively geared towards it.

But I may be wrong. It is a possibility.

No, those two games have very little in common. Have you played Kingdom Come?
I was being sarcastic.

These spots are limited, so do not waste any time and sign up for the Revolution today!

It's NDA-bound btw.

Curiously they call this is "online playtest session". Maybe some Souls-like multiplayer?

Here is what they list in the online form as "games you have played before", you can clearly see the inspiration.
