We are EXTREMELY excited (and stressed :D) to invite you to 1.0 of Tainted Grail. We have always dreamed about making a game like that, a true RPG where, as a player, you can fully immerse yourself and freely explore a dark world with TONS of content.

Make friends, enemies, and, most importantly, amazing memories and stories you will take with you from dark, misty Avalon.

We wanted to give you, the player, full freedom of how you want to enjoy this world. No one is going to hold your hand here and force fetch quests. Hence, we hope that whenever two people who played Tainted Grail talk about it, their experiences will be so different, it will seem as if they played a different game!

We hope that we achieved our goal—but ultimately, you, the player, will be the judge of that!

So, on behalf of the whole Questline and Awaken Realms teams, we officially invite you to Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon! A lot of adventures await you here!

Roadmap
Also, quite important, we have a roadmap of things to come! What to expect after 1.0?
  • Hotfixes
You can expect quite a lot of them in the next few weeks. Those will be small patches fixing some of the most common bugs and problems.
  • Modding support
In about a month, we will share the first mod tools, with more to come in the following months.
  • Content patches
We might also add some extra content after launch! That said, our team will be taking a much-needed break, so any additions will likely come 1–2 months post-premiere ;)
  • Steamdeck upgrade
We are working on a special build for the steam deck that will improve performance and quality of the play on this console. It will not be miraculous changes, but it should be very noticeable update.
… And hopefully much more later down the line!

Is there a rule in the industry that states you have to always append some pointless subtitle to your game's name? What the fuck would've been wrong with just "Tainted Grail", or even "Fall of Avalon"? I miss succinct names. Game looks cool tho.

Better than the annoying trend of naming your "Of Something and Something."

I heard this wants to be in the vein of TES. It does look interesting. I haven't touched ARPG in a long time maybe I should just give it a shot

Everyone wants a franchise, so they call it like that to have Main Series Name: Current Installment Name.

I saw a playthru and it looks like Oblivion for Elden Ring or Dark Souls fans. So its up to your personal tastes if thats good or bad.

That's a subtitle, not a full title. Never try to contradict me again, you disgusting low-T potato mutt.

If you played the demo, you'd be giving this post the incline rating instead of delivering Infinitron his daily dose of turds. Not saying he doesn't deserve them, but you know.

Instead of bitching about the name, tell me if it's worth to play this shit
Play the demo!

And how many "of something and something" full title games do you know? Of Orcs and Men is the only one I can think of, hardly a "trend".

So, what is this game all about?
Any comparison to another game?

Art looks nice.

Just because you only know of one doesn't mean it isn't a trend. They keep stacking up.

Well can you name at least one or two more? That one I know is from 2012, btw.

Of Blades and Tails - some stupid furry roguelike
Of Ash and Steel - open world meme RPG that might be good.
Of Mist and Shadows - a roguelike where you spell stuff, might be an interesting premise.

i did play the demo because it looked like an interesting hybridisation of IP's but after finishing it my opinion is: feels somehow like ai made this game, completely lacks soul. on paper it looks good, screenshots look inviting.. but the gameplay, nah. this game is hollow and not in a fromsoft way

The first dungeon gives a bad impression for the game. Once you get outside the game looks much prettier and its soulslike influence comes online with stats item builds.

Let's just say the mods here are being..... compelled, quite handsomely I might add, to give all non-Obsidian first-person RPGs terrible press on these forums.

Bad performance in the demo (allegedly fixed in the full released), I chose background choices that put the most amount of points into archery but then when I met the combat tutorial pop-up enemy (not the ones you run away from) he was still barely alive after I plugged him with the 15 arrows they gave me (playing on adventurer). When I got to the second enemy and hitting him with a hammer did a sliver of damage I just quit and uninstalled. Writing didn't really grab me either.
