so, for what year did sherman set the wayback machine? who says time travel is impossible? looking at the screenies, Gromnir thought he were back in 2003... or maybe 2002.

    HA! Good Fun!

And? The games of 2003 looked perfectly adequate. Also, 2002 never looked as good as this. Look at some of the Dungeon Siege screens or videos. Those graphics are way below AoD's.

"never" is the answer we would like to be able to give. nevertheless, the fun kinda ends when some misogynist or racist yutz manages to derail a thread. is some other examples... but not too many. after all, Gromnir is a relative cheerful guy.

    HA! Good Fun!

Yeah. If you look at, say, Neverwinter Nights and Silent Storm (from 2002 and 2003 respectively), SS looks much better. There's a big difference. And even though modern games look technically better, their art styles are way over the top. I actually prefer a style that's similar to the games from the beginning of the millenium.

when the biowarians informed us that they would be including Gromnir in bg2 (not tob) they did not ask for our input. we expected that our namesake would be quickly and ignominiously dispatched by a kobold or xvart... or that we would be a kobold or xvart. so, you should probable ask the biowarians who did the writing, and not Gromnir who only provided the inspiration.

    HA! Good Fun!

An indie game that doesn't have the latest graphics? How is that even possible?

When Thursday finally arrives and this game is released would the 8 or 9 year old graphics render the game unplayable to you?

    no.

'course this is a thread that identifies recently released screen shots from the game. given the fact that we don't see much gameplay in the screenies, what else is there to comment 'bout other than graphics quality?

also, when this game gets released if it gots a price tag similar to aaa games, then we expect it to be judged 'gainst the same standard: no free-pass 'cause of indie status. can engaging gameplay and compelling story elements make up for the lack o' production values seen in aaa games? sure, but if the take-no-prisoners codex crowd does the Three Wise Monkeys routine, we is gonna be dissapointed... albeit not surprised.

    HA! Good Fun!

    Up to... 68 people?

The only thing I don't like about AoD's graphics is that the characters blend into the environment. They don't stand out.
