But first it's time to do something with that chest

01.jpg

To open the chest you can either pay Rakia or do it yourself in Darx's room using Darx's unlock skill. Alternatively chests can be sold at a set price (around 250b) to Rakia

02.jpg

It's slightly obscured but on the left in the skills menu, you can see that Darx has 3 uses of his Unlock skill. This skill is used to open chests. Putting more skill points into the Unlock Skill increases the number of uses.
Uses can be recovered by resting.

03.jpg

Darx has to figure out what type of trap there is. Leveling up the unlock skill makes skills more effective. I'm going to assume this is a Darkness trap.

04.jpg

And it is.

05.jpg

There were two items in this chest but unfortunate Darx can't identify either. Rakia can do that for a fee so it's time to head to Rakia's shop.

06.jpg

Far more impressive than Meryl

07.jpg

08.jpg

Rakia will ID items for a fee- but Darx only has $63

09.jpg

We could sell it to Rakia at these prices. I do think that the first item will be worth spending the $100 on whilst the plant almost certainly isn't but I'll ID it anyway.

10.jpg

To pay for all this, Darx goes on a simple cleaning mission instead of the scouting mission. The mission is complete but I'm eager for at least one fight.
And here is an enemy.

11.jpg

Now we can head to Rakia's shop and ID those items.

13.jpg

You'd think Rakia would know what Shia is given she's getting paid to imprison defeated female adventurers and keep them in Darx's sex dungeon.

14.jpg

15.jpg

16.jpg

And it's now time to ID items. The first item is as expected, pretty decent.

17.jpg

Again as expected the plant is complete shit. As a general rule don't both IDing plant because Darx normally loses money out of them.

18.jpg

Recall that the pre ID sales prices were $850 and $2 respectively.
And that IDing costs $100 per item.

19.jpg

Darx's starting equipment is shit so I replace his sword with an axe.

Now it's finally time to start that Scouting Mission

Scouting missions just involve walking around until the game tells you have walked enough.

21.jpg

The very first thing you do in a new dungeon floor is find the exit. Actually walking on the spot with the exit is the way to go, especially when Darx gets the teleport skill.

22.jpg

Darx walks on a warping trap and is warped to this spot.

23.jpg

Right to the left is a secret passageway. Many dungeon floors have secret doors. Often you will only notice them by seeing enemies walk through walls.

24.jpg

And Darx and party go through the secret door. The purple square on the left is the now known warp trap from earlier.

25.jpg

And here I am showing another type of trap.

26.jpg

And Darx has walked enough and has completed this scouting mission. Scouting missions only count the steps Darx walks. You can literally just walk over the same two tiles again and again.
This is why scouting is the best type of mission for when the enemies are strong and you need urgent money to rebuild you party.

Back in Darx's place it seems that Shia didn't feel fit to reward Darx for the chocolate.

34.jpg

35.jpg

Don't worry. Our gallant hero will soon show Meryl the correct way to behave.

36.jpg

That Shia. Always causing trouble.

37.jpg

38.jpg

39.jpg

Taking up this quest again and two cleaning quests for cash and renown

40.jpg

Darx finds an item in a chest.

41.jpg

And gets into another fight.

42.jpg

43.jpg

I forgot to show this earlier but the game tells you when you've covered half the required distance in a scouting mission.

44.jpg

And also when you complete it. As you can see it's not a particularly long distance to cover.

45.jpg

On the way back Darx gets into a fight. The two enemies in the front row are actually females of the thief class.

46.jpg

And finally a level up.

47.jpg

The red enemy is a female of the warrior class. The game has a counter for female enemies killed in battle. This will eventually unlock scenes.

48.jpg

And now the whole party is Level 2

And on returning to his room
49.jpg

Darx gets a level up (based on renown)

Darx gained three skill points as a result of leveling up (not related to getting promoted). The three extra command points however are related to his promotion to Minion.

52.jpg

Two the skill points are put into heal magic. Darx is the best melee fighter for pretty much the entire game but he's the only healer you can directly control.
Plus his healing skills can be used out of battle.

53.jpg

And a level up in Edged Weapons.

54.jpg

And now to open the chest. I'm going to go with a Darkness trap.

55.jpg

However it was an acid trap and it causes $474 in damage. If the damage is more money than Darx has, the benevolent Overlord covers the costs.

The traps are set when you get the chest. So many people savescum opening the chests.
The item is also set when you get the chest so you can savescum IDing them which will save on the $100 you pay Rakia.

56.jpg

Darx still gets the item. The only trap that will make you lose the item is the warp trap.

57.jpg

58.jpg

59.jpg

60.jpg

The first item lost Darx $70 but despite the second item coming from the acid trapped chest, it still makes more than enough to break even.
This is why chests are a great source of income and also of very good items (not that Darx has gotten any yet).

61.jpg

I like having healing items so I get five.

62%20clean%20lvl%204.jpg

Darx complets another routine cleaning job.

63.jpg

This job was on the fourth floor of the Tower of Storms. As you'll have noticed, the floors of the Tower of Storms tend to be very small.
Which actually makes it harder to avoid enemies.

64.jpg

After leaving the dungeon there is a scene on the surface.

65.jpg

This scene signifies the start of the Third Extermination Wave. Strong yellow enemies will begin appearing all over dungeons until this extermination drive finishes.

Darx and Shia were part of the first extermination wave.

Just once, I'd like to see an RPG in which the merchant is the real ultimate villain and using the ludicrous amount of money he/she makes off us to achieve his/her evil goals.

66.jpg

This time Darx is cleaning the fifth floor of the Tower of Storms. And we can already see a yellow enemy.

67.jpg

Well two of them.

68.jpg

Here is the exit but there is no need to leave just yet

69.jpg

Three enemies will make this job impossible. It's time to run. Unfortunately, enemies move when ever Darx turns direction. So walking backwards and walking on the diagonals are the best way of sidestepping enemies.
Darx can't walk backwards through a door though.

70.jpg

To show you what these enemies are like I save and then pick a fight with them. They all do pretty significant damage with their attack and have armour so melee attacks do fuck all damage to them.
You can also see that they have one unit in reserve who will jump in.
Before the new fix Aroduc sent out they would basically wipe out Darx's entire party in one turn.

71.jpg

This is actually going far better than I expected. Also note that the reserve unit has jumped in after a death.

72.jpg

And holy shit I actually won. 83 experience is a lot. I'm not going to tempt fate by fighting another yellow enemy. This was one of the weaker formations of yellow enemies Darx can encounter at this stage of the game.

73.jpg

I'm not game enough to take on another yellow so it's time to go home.

74.jpg

This guy is one of Darx's old compatriots.

It's now time to head to Darx's room and rest.

Killing a yellow enemy (people who didn't play the game until after the fix was introduced won't understand) deserves a special reward.

75.jpg

As always Shia provides. She maybe ruining Darx's relationship with his neighbours but she'd good where it matters.

76.jpg

77.jpg

It's become a lot more tasteful than the prologue.

78.jpg

:smug:

79.jpg

At Rakia's shop we get another Meryl scene

80.jpg

Since there isn't a King or a Dungeon Master at the moment this guy is equal second in command of this whole place.

81.jpg

82.jpg

This guy is also an overseer

83.jpg

Each overseer is in charge of one of the dungeons. I can't recall who controls which dungeon but Golan and Tojo control the Tower of Storms and the Cave of Buezora which are the two dungeons Darx has worked in so far.

84.jpg

85.jpg

Darx gets to know Ekate and Juju very well.

86.jpg

87.jpg

88.jpg

The main reason to come here was to get another scouting mission. They're the best missions for avoiding enemies.

89.jpg

Antbro appears

90.jpg

91.jpg

92.jpg

what the fuck is Overlord-like?

93.jpg

94.jpg

95.jpg

I decide to try and finish off this cleaning job first but there are too many enemies.

96.jpg

After leaving the dungeon there is another scene at the surface.

97.jpg

Cass is an old 'acquaintance' of Darx. She's the first boss of the game and second girl Darx can sex up.

Back in the scouting mission there are two enemies.

100.jpg

And Darx levels up

104.jpg

I complete the mission but there is another yellow enemy. The shitty werebears do like one damage to them and Darx either does one damage of twenty.

105.jpg

Only the pigmen are left after this fight.

106.jpg

If the entire party faints it is game over. Otherwise Darx is left with one health after every fight he gets knocked out in.
Also since the fairy is gone I can't see Darx's location on the map.

107.jpg

Golan and Tojo are not happy.

108.jpg

It's now time to head to Darx's room to recover

109.jpg

110.jpg

The tone is what matters and Shia has gone from genuine hatred to just tsun.

111.jpg

112.jpg

To be fair to Shia, she was naked and chained up at the time.

113.jpg

114.jpg

115.jpg

116.jpg

And I put the new skill points into warp magic.

After opening the chest (Acid Trap) Darx heads to Rakia's store.

119.jpg

120.jpg

121.jpg

She'd probably sell them for $5001 though

122.jpg

123.jpg

124.jpg

Both items from that chest are profitable.

125.jpg

Which is good because it's time to rehire our defeated party members (in red)

127.jpg

Scouting yet again.

Darx beats up on three red enemies before picking a fight with a yellow

131.jpg

132.jpg

An easy win in the end.

133.jpg

Aleshia is the Princess of the local Kingdom. By the end of the game Darx will be making a new Prince :smug:

134.jpg

135.jpg

136.jpg

137.jpg

Basically yellow enemies will stop appearing for a while.

This game was the most fun I've had with my pants on in a while. Didn't manage to unlock all the scenes though, what a shame. Some of them are a little bit impossible too, like finding 5x porn mags.

Remember to check the extra scenes after you complete the game, they aren't just the standard CG gallery stuffies.

I'm thinking of getting and playing this game. Only, I'm married and have two small children, aged 3 and 5. Can't very well play when they might see what I'm doing, and even once they're in bed, my missus might misunderstand the game as well.

I wonder if I should try doing this covertly. :M

So our hero's sex slave is nicknamed Shia and the princess is named Aleshia. Coincidence ? I don't think so !

Should be able to get several updates through this weekend.

Some of them are a little bit impossible too, like finding 5x porn mags.

Those are the reqs for the merchant? I couldn't ger her neither.

For Rakia?

After the rebellion do some ordinary missions. Cuvar will tell you Rakia's secret.
Then pay her any amount of gold that is higher than $5001

Especially if you are a AAA game dev

02.jpg

Aleshia/Shia. Pure coincidence. I certainly can't draw any parallels with Russian in Rance IX

03%20tsun.jpg

You can't really tell without the voice but it's no longer an angry shut up.

04.jpg

05.jpg

06.jpg

She isn't competent enough to intentionally poison him anyway. Not that she wants to.

08.jpg

And now Darx can recruit better units into his party.

09.jpg

One of these is the Wall which is a pretty useful front row tank. Just as important is it's skill which shows the exits of each map.

10.jpg

Now that the Extermination Drive is over it's safe to take up this job. These sort of jobs are very good for leveling up and raising money.

11.jpg

The Cleaning job from earlier is still unfinished so that comes first.

12.jpg

The mission is easy as piss and a scene on the surface follows it.

13.jpg

Another look at Darx's close acquaintance

14.jpg

15.jpg

And now for the disinformation mission. Darx has to press that text bubble next to runaway once during every fight. This takes up his turn.
This has to happen in ten fights (which Darx has to win). These ten fights can be stretched over multiple dungeon entries if you're close to a gameover.

16.jpg

There is a message after three kills.

17.jpg

The useless werebear got itself killed. I'll replace it with something else when I can.

18.jpg

There is a second message after seven.

19.jpg

Compared to the cleaning and scouting missions these missions provide a good cash reward, plenty of experience, plenty of chests and also renown.

20.jpg

This guy is probably the only person in the history of Japanese eroge to mindcontrol a hot girl and not do anything sexual.

21.jpg

Jon is a bro and is Darx's 'good' counterpart.

In one of the sequels Darx is mindcontrolled into becoming a proper hero and takes on Jon's colour scheme.
They also had the same name in their orphanage

Where Darx thinks of sex, Jon only thinks about money.

Pretty much my reaction

26.jpg

27.jpg

28.jpg

29.jpg

Darx says what we're all thinking

30.jpg

31.jpg

'The Escape of the stark naked female adventurer from the Overlord's Dungeon', I guarantee this is already a game in Japan.

32.jpg

Should get some good items out of this haul of chests.

33.jpg

Darx can now buy better shit from Rakia

34.jpg

I think edged weapons is a better skill path but it's hard to argue with +30 strength.

35.jpg

Cursed items cannot not be removed without a skill/paying Rakia. Darx will lose a small amount of HP every turn but the +25 strength is too good so I'll equip it.

36.jpg

Darx now has a pretty decent sit of equipment.
The fire element means that Darx can walk on lava tiles without losing health.

37%20random%20scene%20mid%20mission.jpg

Doing the spread disinformation mission again.

38.jpg

An encounter with an old colleague

39.jpg

40.jpg

He knows Darx well.

41.jpg

42.jpg

It's not running away. It's advancing in the opposite direction.

43.jpg

After completing the mission there is another very short cutscene.

44.jpg

45.jpg

Back at Darx's (the next Shia scene should have a new CG)

Good thing pregnancy in eroges is a minor inconvenience most of the time. Also, what's up with Japan always portraying male characters with glasses as invariably evil and/or colder than the average person?

A horse of course

01.jpg

And Darx can now buy new shit. I think this is linked to the amount of money spent buying items at Rakia's store and has nothing to do with rank or renown

02.jpg

This is actually two different conversations. The second is after I pick a mapping job.

03.jpg

04.jpg

05.jpg

This shouldn't need to be explained.

06.jpg

Purples are generally boss enemies. I have no idea why there is one here.

08.jpg

The news of Darx's survival has reached the surface. As always Jon is the first person to give a shit.

09.jpg

10.jpg

11.jpg

And Darx gets another promotion.

12.jpg

13.jpg

Basically Darx can recruit more demons.

14.jpg

15.jpg

And straight away I get a Dark Mage. It's a good attacker and has a good ability. I had one in my team for the final boss.

16.jpg

And Darx takes another cleaning job.

17.jpg

And this is the game telling Darx to stop being a scrub and to do real missions.

18.jpg

And just in case you were to busy staring at Rakia's tits to pay attention

19.jpg

20.jpg

And after that really easy cleaning mission

21.jpg

Roger seems to be reading a lot. Couldn't possibly be plot relevant.

22.jpg

23.jpg

24.jpg

25.jpg

26.jpg

After completing another mission the news of Darx's survival reaches Cass

27.jpg

28.jpg

I don't think she and Darx parted on the best terms.

Darx's cute neighbour

02.jpg

They live underground. Why do they have gutters?

03.jpg

Maki's bread deliveries are probably keeping Shia alive

04.jpg

05.jpg

After completing another mission we found out that Cassie's looking forward to her reunion with her sweetheart.

06.jpg

Or not.

07.jpg

Seems like she's a bit of a joke though

08.jpg

09.jpg

Ulru Street? Is this Australia?

10.jpg

I wonder what happened the first time Darx invited Maki into his house and if Shia was still chained up naked back then.

11.jpg

12.jpg

Because you can't have a Japanese game without a cat girl

13.jpg

14.jpg

15.jpg

She sounds like some kind of upper middle class, useless university degree chick.

16.jpg

About as clever as well.

17.jpg

18.jpg

Darx leveled up earlier so I increased his Command Points. I've finally got the lineup I want to fight Cass with.
